The Island Fox, Urocyon littoralis, is a distinct species descended from the Grey Fox (Urocyon cinereoargenteus). Living in isolation on the Channel Islands off the coast of California, they have developed a form of insular dwarfism, leaving them the largest carnivores on their respective islands (each island's population is also a distinct subspecies), but one of the smallest carnivores in the world.

Through great efforts of conservation, they have recently been removed from the endangered species list, and their populations are strong and healthy.

They are also REALLY GODDAMN CUTE AND SMALL LOOK AT THEM.

I can pose it with my Ikea wild strawberry to make it look like it's enjoying a snack

I can pose it with my Wild Republic giant squid to recreate an epic battle

This is from a couple days ago but omg please tell me how you obtained this. There doesn't seem to be any sort of online shop for them that I can find.

It's from the Nagasaki Biopark gift shop: http://store.shopping.yahoo.co.jp/ngsbiopark-amigos/4980934004243.html

The problem is that Yahoo! Shopping Japan doesn't make it easy to pay or ship oversees. I used a service called Buyee that purchases the item on your behalf and reships it overseas. The process was pretty easy and very fast but the shipping was murder (though partly because I picked a fast option I think.) However aside from shipping it's a drat steal at 2000 yen. The Buyee link for the item is http://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/shopping/ngsbiopark-amigos_4980934004243

Awesome, thanks a ton.

I'm really glad that Gordon Ramsey's act on Hell's Kitchen is just an act. All accounts indicate that the dude is legitimately a nice, good chef who really loves helping people achieve their potential.

The UK version of his one series...was it Kitchen Nightmares? It's a lot less hostile and played-up for entertainment value than the US version. It's been a while since I've watched through it, but I seem to recall him being more disappointed than angry with most of the people he encountered along the way.

FUN FACT! (Ok I think it's fun)

"Lagopus" is old Greek "hare-foot", what with hares and rabbits having very fluffy feet. It also appears in the name of the arctic fox, Vulpes Lagopus. (formerly genus Alopex, old Greek for 'fox').
