This is how we got my childhood dog actually, he was a purebred setter out of hunting lines but it became immediately apparent that the poor boy was just too dumb to do the job. Dog literally would not hunt. So we took him as a pet and he was the sweetest, dumbest dog ever. Us kids used to walk him because if you dropped the leash he would stop in confusion until you picked it back up because he didn't understand he could keep going without the pressure on his collar. Used to chase airplane shadows on the ground thinking he could catch them. Bless his heart, that dog never learned a single command but he was the goodest boy
