He was originally owned by "a rich guy on the mountain" and he was traded for construction work. He was the family dog in a white trash family. They beat him from what I can tell from his manners and the 2 scars on his face. They eventually couldn't make the payments on the house and left him there. He was there so long that the bank who was selling the house was familiar with my dog. I found him in the garage with a bucket of cheap kibble.

This is a picture from one of his first winters with me

you are an awesome person.

he lives in an ugly tin in my living room now until I find a tree to plant him under

He was only three, and given the 2013 nuking of game lines in the southeast, I will never own another one like him.

Not quite a pitbull, but I recently looked after a staffordshire bull terrier. And some of the behaviors and all, it seems very familiar. Absolute aggression towards other dogs, not simply fighting aggression but fear too, a mix of both, to almost any other dog. He'd lunge and bark at them in fury, then sorta back away and become defensive if they barked, before trying to attack them again. Luckily their eyesight isn't quite as good as humans - I could see other dogs ahead of us and take a different route long before he saw them too. It really was like that, even on leash he couldn't be near other dogs. He's a quarter my weight but almost as strong as my skinny goon rear end, he could drag me along if he wanted, so other dogs were an issue. They're like solid muscle those dogs. Super toned.

But with humans? The most loving adorable dog I've ever met. I could see him as a therapy dog. Always wanting pats and cuddles.

Cool party, guys.
I don't understand why anyone would want a pit, they're terrible guard dogs. They're only exceptional at mauling infants and children, not adults.

I guess people think they're cute, but most pit lovers I've met have been unstable nutcases who only like pits because they're the only breed they identify with.

This is our dog, Blue. His dad was a pit and his momma was a mutt. He's been a great dog. He's friendly as can and the worst he has ever done to anyone was he scratched a kid cause he got too excited and jumped on him. He does like to try and chase stray cats (he doesn't bother ours, just the strays that roam around the neighborhood). He also loves soda. No idea why, but when he is in the house he'll make a beeline for a cup of soda if its in his reach.

That being said, as sweet as he is, we still make sure he can't get out and roam around (unlike my rear end in a top hat neighbor and his four dogs he just lets run wild). If he isn't in the house he is on a 75 foot dog run in a fenced in backyard. Only time I've ever seen him act aggressive is if someone he doesn't know goes into the backyard and we're not out there too he'll bark like crazy. If we're out there though he'll calm down.

I believe the law is letting pit bulls that are already owned by someone live. So if your dog runs off or if you want another pit bull after yours passes away, you're boned.
Which also makes me wonder how they're going to enforce a half-ban like that, or determine what a pit even is.

You know that weird baby-man in Mad Max: Fury Road?

He's tougher than he looks.

Her idiot mother jumped off the couch when she heard the mailman and landed on her two day-old puppy. Bad break that didn't heal right and she was too young for surgery so eventually her mother nommed it off. IDK all the details, but that's what I was told.

I like your 3.5 legged murderdogge.. how does it run? or lope or fling itself around?

i just figured rotties and pits and unusually mean sheps and people who want to adopt Great Pyrenees and stuff can hang out.. talk about the latest slayings of the dogs and stuff.

She runs in kind of a lope using her remaining back leg for balance. I taught her to swim in the local dog park so she can catch mermaid babies. Unlike our other dog, she has mastered climbing up and down our open stairs to the basement because she's figured out that's where the dog food containers are. The only thing she sucks at is catching her tennis ball because I don't think she can stop or change direction easily once she's up to full speed. She waves her nub for balance when she squats to poop, which is funny as hell.

She is also able to jump up onto the couch to climb in my lap and growl at me when I don't pet her enough.

Help.
