Every single year the Ivy League takes a break from fucking up the world through its various alumni to fuck up everyone's bracket instead.
So on the upside college basketball is close enough (Nov. 11) that all the preseason stuff no longer feels horribly premature.

On the downside, Grayson Allen still exists and his Ted Cruz face will be basically omnipresent on all media all season long.

It won't be that bad.

It's looking like Rutgers will be #100 KenPom bad (aka, what they did under Mike Rice) as opposed to #280 bad, so look the gently caress out bottom half of the Big Ten. Recruiting under Jordan was just average as opposed to a total disaster, and he was that bad as a coach. The reports out of practice have been shocking. They didn't run basic drills the past three years, and it showed.

No. One top 100 player (ranked RSCI 66). I don't get it. They are bringing back a lot, but several freshmen transferred out, which are usually the biggest year over year improvements. And they were pretty bad last year.

edit: Pomeroy addressed this specifically in his blog: http://kenpom.com/blog/preseason-ratings-now-with-transfers/

Iowa feels a little bit like Gatens' last year where he went supernova for a couple months at the end of the season and dragged them to the NIT. This group is more talented than that one (Tyler Cook definitely has the most star potential of any freshman they've had in a long time) but it's still one really good player in Jok surrounded by a ton of young unproven guys.

Speaking of early season tournaments, I'm amazed that adidas/Under Armour haven't announced a tournament of their own to counter Nike's huge one next year. If anything, figured one of them would have raced to try and scoop Nike in the announcement.
