Tangentially related to college basketball but I learned a crazy goddamn thing about One Shining Moment today: CBS originally bought the rights from the composer so they could use to end their Super Bowl broadcast in 1987, but it ran way long and the ending montage got cut so they asked the composer if he would settle for having it used at the end of the NCAA basketball tournament instead. One Shining Moment was going to be the Super Bowl Anthem
