ive been meaning to fill a gaming hole for a while now. ive always dabbled in castlevania games in the past but the only one ive ever owned was dawn of sorrow (also the only one ive ever beaten) so im going to play basically every castlevania worth a drat. the list is below but the only games im plannning on skipping are Castlevania II because it seems terrible, Vampire Killer because i dont want to mess with trying to emulate an MSX2, and the N64 games. since dark souls III also comes out next week i will probably be start and stop for a while but hell, lets talk about castlevania because these games are loving awesome! Castlevania II: Simon's Quest (NES) *Indicates a game completed with improper savestate usage. In Training fucked around with this message at 23:12 on Jun 1, 2016 |

The WiiWare exclusive Castlevania the Adventure ReBirth is drat good as well. I played a bunch of Castlevania games that I hadn't played last year and loved almost all of them. They were: Castlevania Simon's Quest Castlevania 3 Super Castlevania IV Bloodlines Castlevania 64 Circle of the Moon Portrait of Ruin Lament of Innocence Adventure ReBirth Out of all of those the only ones I didn't really enjoy were Castlevania 64 and Super Castlevania IV. I love this series. I'm currently playing Curse of Darkness and I'm always playing OoE.

I only played Aria of Sorrow of the DS ones, despite owning Portrait of Ruin and a flashcart. I gotta fix this.

If you're skipping II because you think it's bad, don't bother with The Adventure. It's awful.

tfw you accidentally hit the save state button instead of the load state button and are stuck in a terrible hosed up situation and have to redo the entire level again.

i had to use save states on death as well. hes a real motherfucker, but i figured since i could get to him reliably without dying i didnt want to replay all those other levels. especially since he wound up orbably taking me 20 tries.

Zoq-Fot-Pik posted:Simon's Quest is pretty boring so I think I'm gonna skip straight to 3. It's funny because even if you don't get lost and know what you're doing in 2, the game has like three bosses, two which you can skip and of course Dracula who you can kill before he even moves. I still like Simon's Quest, tho.
