this is a thread where u can post gaming websites that have interesting or hard to find info about games. i dont mean sites like ign or siliconera but stuff like hardcoregaming101 and the cutting room floor. i could maybe add website links to the OP if the mods would like to sticky this thread

http://www.hardcoregaming101.net - lots of stuff about old and obscure (but good) games. plus a lot of articles where they write about the history of a franchise. pwnage web site IMO

https://tcrf.net/The_Cutting_Room_Floor - lists cut content from games that people have found by digging through the code and stuff like that

I was literally just rereading it. Very funny stuff, he meticulously lays out the bizarre and insane structure of f2p mobile games and eventually calculates a value of people's lifespan in terms of Simoleans and such. It's very cool

"Then there are “lifetime points”, which are a weirder type of currency, because they don’t seem to have been thought through as well. “Lifetime points” will let you buy new “traits” for your Sim. Buy the “ninja” trait, and your Sim will throw his hands behind his back and dash everywhere instead of walking."

Plotscripting. Plotscripting is where a character does something
without you controlling them. Mini games, one of the many great
thing in Chrono Trigger, are a great example of Plotscripting! On
the hitting the bell with the mallet game in the fair Chrono moves
up and down while you get ready to press the "B" button to make
him hit it. It's just a easier way to do things. This game has tons
of it! It's all done so well too! All the moves characters do out of
battle that you don't make them do is Plotscripting!

Chrono Trigger posted:

Crono (don't get confused here...)
Age: 15
Sex: Female (You'll understand if you read this)
Height: 5' 4"
Weight: 107 lbs.
Weapon: Katana (the same type as Crono)
Magic-Type: Lightning

When you go to 1000 AD (as long as it's after the trial, you'll be fine), you
go into Crono(m)'s house...you go to the area wear the light is and search
around and you'll find a shiny thing...press that, and you hear something
above you. Go upstairs to the bedroom, and you see a passageway in the
wall directly in front of you. Walk through the passageway and you see a
girl who resembles Crono(m), only with dark brown hair and deep brown
eyes. Still, the resemblance is (to put it in Frog/Glenn's words) uncanny. You
talk to her, and she jumps a bit, then smiles at your group and says, "Hey,
I'm Crono..." Not such a big line, but what can you do...at least she talks,
unlike our male Crono (Don't get me started on that). You tell her the deal,
and she just yawns very loudly and obviously, then looks over her shoulder
at the shadows, and, addressing the shadowed area, says, "Alright, you
two...you can come out now." And two more people come out (Names: Lucas
and Nicki, and they will get their own descriptions). So these three decide,
what the heck, why not join up with our time-traveling heros...after all...how
else are they to get home, right? I mean...rats...I guess that brings us to
the history of Crono(f). Crono(f) was born after Crono(m) got married to
Marle/Nadia in 1005, and she is the younger sister of Crono(m)...their
father was actually somewhere in Porre all of Crono(m)'s life up until after
the wedding, and he apologized to his wife for not being around...she gets
pregnant and he leaves again, and, in time, Crono(f) is born. Fifteen years
later, there is a fair to commemorate the fifteenth birthday of the prince,
and it's at what is known as Leene Square in 1000 AD and as Nadia Square
in 1020 AD. She and two of her friends were brought to 1000 AD by a time
warp that mysteriously opened up, and they join you. She'd be a great
warrior, and Melchoir would actually end up making two Rainbows, one for
each Crono. [BTW...she's named Crono 'cause Mother Dearest wanted
another shot at raising a Crono...don't ask me why...she just did...and
neither Crono knew about their relation to each other...then again, after
the wedding, King Crono disregards his family and Lucca...:(] She has all of
the same techs as Crono(m), and they get some neat duel-techs when they
work together...Double Lightning, which combines the Lightning 2 from
both...Duel Lightning Strike, in which each casts lightning on the other's
blade, causing BIG damage...and (drum-roll, please).. Double-Team Luminaire,
which is a double-dose of Luminaire, causing HUGE damage. She only gets
one triple-tech, though...and that's with Lucas and Nicki...Delta Pyramid...a
MUCH stronger version of the Delta Force and Delta Storm...combined. All
in all, she's an awesome character. Crono(m)'s house is also Crono(f)'s house.

Name: Lucas
Age: 15
Sex: Male
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 184 lbs.
Weapon: Gun
Magic-Type: Fire

at the shadows, and, addressing the shadowed area, says, "Alright, you

one female, and they look very much alike...actually, they also look a lot like
Lucca. The male is Lucas, and he is the future younger brother of Lucca, and
the girl is his twin sister Nicole, Nicki for short. So these three decide, what
the heck, why not join up with our time-traveling heros...after all...how else
are they to get home, right? So, anyway, Lucas has all of the techs of his
older sister, and he also has her great mind for creativity, invention, and
science. The twins were born just about a month after Crono(f), and the
three are best friends, and the best dare-devil-types around. Unlike his
older sister, Lucas does not have purple hair (talk about freaky), but, rather,
a so-deep-it's-almost-black brown shade for his hair and deep brown eyes.
He and Lucca have the duel-techs Double Fire (a double dose of Fire 2),
Bombing Raid (each throws the mega-bombs), and Double-Strike Flare (a
double-dose of flare). He and Nicki have duel-techs, as well, and they are
the same as the ones for Marle and Lucca, only stronger, and the same go
for his duel-techs with Crono(f)...same as Lucca and Crono(m), just stronger.
Those are his only combos for duel-tech, and his only combo for triple-tech
is with Crono(f) and Nicki, and it is Delta Pyramid, a MUCH stronger version
of Delta Force and Delta Storm combined. He's a great character to have.

Quakin' Craker would be the boss of the game. He would be on the same
ship as the real boss. He would look like a big duck, and sometimes he
would jump off the ship and land somewhere else. He would spit out
baby ducks (only 1 at a time), and the longer you wait to kill them, the
more powerful they got. They would start out the same as walking
Kremlins, then start snapping their beaks like the alligators, then
start jumping up and down, then they'd go back to walking but only Donkey
can kill them, then they would become two baby ducks. You kill
Quackin' Cracker himself by jumping on his feet five times while
avoiding being pecked.

Growler would be another animal helper that Donkey and Diddy ride
on. Growler would be a tiger that could be as powerful and fast as Rambi,
and jump as high as Winky, and also his eyes would glow in the dark for
levels like "Blackout Basement" or maybe "Torchlight Trouble." He would be
a white tiger with black stripes, and his glowing eyes would be neon green.

There are a whole bunch of different competitions, and tournaments you
can play, and win, but the ending is always the same, even when you beat
the FIFA World Cup, which is some what odd. When the game is over, is
shows the player running together, and the camera zooms out, and you
see the winning team (if that's your team) holding the trophy and jumping
at the center of the field. Then it shows the 12 starting player posing for
a team picture, and they all have a medal hanging from their necks. After
that, it show the game data, just like it does after every game, and it returns
you to the title screen.
