My favorite memories of this game are swarms and swarms of fighters. I really wish they recreated that in other games.

I remember mass drivers being really good for one thing, Point Defense. I used to escort my carriers with ships packed to the gills with PD mass drivers and the hail of lead would shred incoming missiles and fighters.

The SotS 2 team knew exactly what they were doing. They just didn't give a flying gently caress about what their actual community thought, even though they released dev updates every week that were almost universally hated. I don't remember who the chucklefuck in charge was, but he was a massive douche.
