Yeah I don't think I really dislike any of the Showa era except for All Monsters Attack. Biollante, King Ghidora, and Destoroyah are the best in the Heisei era. I also like 2000, and Against Mechagodzilla almost entirely because of the Mechagodzilla drop to rocket punch moment.

Just got back from the movie, thought it was great. I liked seeing Godzilla before the nuclear testing and he kind of reminded me of '98 Zilla. His breath was incredible in this movie and I'm fine with the somewhat happy ending especially if they do something with the regenerating parts and such.

The modern western Godzilla movies have been awful with scale in general tbh, especially in 2014 but also in the Kong movies. I'll probably go watch this one in theaters cause the local place is pretty cheap and lets me order beer and food from my seat so I'll enjoy it either way. I'm not big on Kong's design but I like pink fin big G.

I just finished rewatching the Showa era and King Caesar doing absolutely nothing after getting a full length song to bring him out was hilarious. While I didn't love all the movies on this rewatch the only one I stopped and just skipped was All Monsters Attack.

Megaguirus & Raids Again are both bad and I think Megaguirus is the worst, but All Monsters Attack is up there for me too, probably the second worst. Haven't watched '98 in ages so I don't really have an opinion on that one anymore.

I like King Caesar because the movie builds up to him appearing, he does, and then accomplishes very little before going away again and I find that very funny

So with Bio getting a western release again what does leave for out of print Hesei era stuff? I'm pretty sure I'm missing Return, Bio, and Ghidorah (and maybe Mothra) from buying the dual blu ray packs a few years ago to get most of the movies but I wasn't sure if there were others out of print or if any of the non-Bio I don't have released again.

Haven't watched Biollante in ages so I was excited to watch the Criterion release. I'm still not a giant fan of the movie overall (mostly because the whole corporate espionage plotline is very silly in practice), but it looks great in 4K and Biollante is one of my favorite designs overall.
