There were probably about 20 seats left in the theater where I saw it. It was reasonably packed and the audience wasn't too terrible (only a handful of dumb comments throughout the film). That said, I don't regret buying my tickets in advance.

It wasn't any worse than some of the Godzilla dubs we received here. Since you're fluent, you can easily pick out the awful 3rd rate crime procedural acting from the English speaking actors.

I just remembered one of the funny parts from the movie. After the special task force bureau is assembled, and the one guy makes a discovery, shrieks while he spins in his chair, and then yells a bit and runs around the room with his laptop. I love gags like that.

Nationalism in Japan is a thing that exists. The poster ascribing him to the Komeito is hilarious as hell, though. I mean, not to be a negative Nancy or anything, but Godzilla movies are never subtle in their metaphors.
