Yep, the battery for the little key code thing. If it dies, the board dies. If you don't replace it correctly, the board dies. They're selling a daughter board that you can install to hard-wire in the code, and it comes with a list of basically every board that has the battery and the code you need to put in to get it working.

It was a terrible port in that it was inaccurate too the arcade. It was an incredible port in that it ran well and was perfectly functional. Plus it had all those extra options.

I was interested in GBFV for awhile but it seemed completely DOA on PC. It wasn't helped by a number of factors but costing 90bux for 11 characters, no rollback netcode, being announced for the platform about 2 days before release and launching the weekend before the quarantine became national news in the US didn't help. Greedy! But also misfortunate. But also greedy!

Also use the timer as a resource like how freeman/carmine/mira use health

In particular, in a non-competitive variation he can rewind and fast-forward the timer with meter, and in a competitive variation now he can rewind himself back to what he was doing a few seconds ago, and can do that mid combo too.

Geras is just a function, what you do with him in game is what makes him boring or not.

The arcade version has a basic training mode that you can play, so I'd presume so yeah.

Dunno how fully featured it is however

The full game will have "free battle", which lets you set AIs to do nothing and also tweak timer settings/burst gain settings/etc. This basically serves as a training mode. In the current weekend early access waves, you can approximate a training mode by hosting a private lobby and locking in by yourself, which puts you in a training stage versus an infinitely respawning Gundam with no AI and also displays damage output numerically.

That said, training mode is pretty limited in learning to play EXVS beyond figuring out the basic buttons of the suit you want to play. The execution requirements of the game are generally super low compared to other FGs, and all the skill comes from learning how to move properly, which can only really be picked up in actual matches.

He's kinda this in universe too

Though I just realised he controls sand because hourglass. Also that in the game that doesn't have any of the much derided MK robots playable afaik, instead there's an immortal golem and literally the Terminator

Cyrax is "in" the game in that sucky way that Rain and others were in X, they're there and could even be used with hacks, it's just that they have very basic kits since they're only story fights until they feel like putting them in a season.

Robocop in MK11 is funny because it seems like they finally started to solve the kind of stiff, stilted, robotic animations that have always plagued NRS games and then they put a character in who purposefully looks like that.

MK11 is fun even despite some of the really whack ideas NRS put into the game for some reason, like the messy variation system and how rolling is nearly impossible to do if you are a human being for some reason. Decent online and still very active too.

I just started last month, it's my first NRS game I've tried to play for real. I gave up on SF and related games about a year ago. Button blocking is weird but I got over it pretty quick, the real mind-boggling part is trying to figure out how it changes the psychology of training someone to block and getting throws off of it. It makes it much more intentional and easier to sense when someone has given in to blocking when you want them to.
