I don't think this was ever a genuine price experiment, I think they're simply forcing the game out before it's ready, maybe to capitalise off Evo or whatever, and this is their solution to doling out the content post-release.

To be fair, a lot of people are going to poo poo on it anyways because it's a copy-pasta game but this still probably could have been a thing if we got the pricing announcement when we were told half the roster was going to be DLC. Frankly, a $70 price point would make BBCTB the cheapest tier one complete fighting game barring Tekken 7 in the last three years. THAT SAID, $50 for the starting roster is a colossal rip off, and holy poo poo the weeks between the announcement of the roster split and the pricing model has poisoned the absolute gently caress out of this well. When I thought it looked like ArkSys wanted to outdo MvC:I with this game, I didn't assume that included killing the gently caress out of the game before it ever got off the ground.

Fwiw, I don't really care about how much of the game is reused content, as long as the base mechanics are good enough and the character variety is good. Which on that note, bbtag doesn't seem outright terrible, but nothing has been exciting.

As far the BBTAG goes though, I do find it really annoying they couldn't be a little bit transparent about their plans at first and deserved the blowup they got for the Pyramid Scheme of a DLC plan they showed. That being said idgaf about the game being reused assets because a lot of my favorite FGs have an assload of them and those usually allow for more experimentation with dumb and wacky mechanics in tag games. The price tags on everything suck, but a lot of impressions have been dropping about the game as of late have made it seem very fun. It's gonna be worth 50 bucks more than any lovely Capcom or NRS game that's dropped as of late and if nothing else I will play it with a Zand and put the Rwby voices on English to annoy him with.

So Calgary is getting it's first major-ish event run by the Canada Cup guys this May. I registered for three games and I'm gonna suck poo poo so bad at all of them. DBZ, Rev, Tekken. The pot is gonna thank me. I thought for a while about only registering for one and focusing on it which probably would be the smart thing to do. But realistically I'm non competitive either way so just getting out there and playing a shitload of games is gonna be fun I think. Support the scene, show that western Canadian tournaments can have a viable number of entrants, etc. Also the venue is a loving 24h casino, so that might be a shitshow. I did the same thing when i went to my first tourney, realistically I wasnt gonna be able to do poo poo in anything but Rev, but while youre there just register for more games imo. It gives you an excuse to check out other areas and play more games. I played Tekken, UNIST (which I had never even played before) and KOFXIV, it was great, and when i got home i immediately imported UNIST

Yeah, I want to say the first three were. They were my first majors and a huge part of what got me into fighting games. They were so much fun even though I nearly flunked a course because I forgot I had a midterm on the Friday I had to leave to make pools. The third one (I want to say like, 2012 ish?) was hilarious because it was in some huge Chinese community center that had a Saturday school the same day the tournament was being held. After the first round of pools my buddy and I went out for a smoke, and on the way out we looked up and there were like fifty Chinese kids leaning over a railing, staring at all the video games grown-ups were playing while they were stuck in school learning math or whatever. EX gives both buffs and you can use it to cancel her Force Function or something.

The Wagner flow is confirm whatever into knockdown into buff shield because it gives you the most mix up options. Makes you + on charge and you can hold the button to make it corner carry on Block and still do lows or air assault etc. Wagner is cool
