Funny how that works. I've really enjoyed your channel; it's easily one of the best FG channels out there. Your MK11 coverage has been fantastic. What's funny is that when you started producing YT content regularly and it started showing up in my subs feed, I had completely forgotten that you were a goon, so for months I was trying to remember when I had discovered your channel and couldn't figure it out. Then once I started visiting the forums again regularly and saw you post a link to your channel, that's when it clicked for me.

As disappointed as I was with Infiltration winning, I was pretty disappointed with SamSho top 8 as a whole. Everyone who played Infi just seemed to collapse against him, and I'm not 100% sure if it's just because everyone is still incredibly raw at the game and he was able to focus specifically on SamSho, or if Genjuro is just that much better than everyone else.

Sarchasm posted:It's a little of both. There were four Genjuro players in Top 8, but only Infiltration made it into Top 3. Genjuro is very good, but Infiltration had a unique and especially strong playstyle. Oh, no doubt. I've never been an Infi fan (even before him being an abusive PoS came out), but he's pretty good. His Genjuro's style comes off as high risk, high reward. Several players had his number for a second, but he was able to turn it around.

How good/fun were the characters? I think I bought Broly by himself, but I don't have any of the others. Cooler, Vegitto, Zamasu, and Base Vegeta are fun characters, and Bardock is the best character in the game if you care about such things.

It's pretty frustrating to look at what Capcom's done since MHW dropped and having a hell of a run (MM11, REmake 2, DMCV)... while getting nothing FG-wise. Hell, the best thing that's happened to SF in that period is Ken getting announced for Smash.

I also found out today that Asuka started her own YouTube channel last month, and it's a hybrid gaming/vlog channel done in a mix of Japanese/English. I do think SFV highlights that maybe Capcom should maybe move beyond characters' hands being as large as their heads, because I'm tired of being creeped out by Dictator's win animation. Brought To You By posted:The last of the Granblue fantasy Character trailers came out today. Yeah, which I think helped to sell Menat and G (although I do agree that the moving gold tats is a bit much, which is why I stick to the Q alt). And I gotta say, SFV Blanka is the first time I put any time into Blanka since the original SF2.

Xad posted:UI Goku would have to be like how Saitama works in the OPM fighting game: immensely powerful but with a huge drawback. For Saitama you just have a blank spot on your team and if you survive long enough he FINALLY shows up and can't take damage and one shots everyone. Rooflemonger/Evil Canadian suggested in his video on the leak that UI Goku might be a solo character only, which honestly would be kind of interesting if done right. And the bright side of UI Goku being the first character of Season 3 is that the most obvious, least interesting character choice is done, and the rest of the season should have some more fun choices.

Critical posted:Speaking of SamSho, would it be a good pickup for a beginner? It seems slower and footsie based and knowing what button to punish with instead of longer combos. I would say so, but really, all you should be concerned about right now as a beginner is playing what you like. It doesn't matter if a game is better or worse than another as long as you're enjoying yourself, and don't mind losing if you're trying to get better. If you're enjoying SFV, then stick with SFV. If you want to try another game, then by all means pick up SamSho (it's a great game) or another fighter. Having said that, there's a lot more people playing SFV than SamSho. If playing online is a factor for you, then I would stick with SFV; you're not going to have any trouble finding someone to play.

And given what we know about the netcode now, even when the match feels fine on my end, I always have that sense of doubt where I'm thinking "I have no idea if it was lovely on their end because they just randomly got opened up by really dumb stuff sometimes" in the back of my mind, and that even takes away the impact from victories. I absolutely agree about SFV, but in my experience, I've had worse online on SamSho. I think it's the better game, I think it's better for beginners, but I can't recommend it over SFV if online play matters to you.
