certain applications will pick up through dinput, so you don't really have to worry. x360ce is what I use if dinput isn't recognized.

I had to open up my switch pro controller to apply tape to the dpad contacts just so it would operate slightly better, but it's still bad compared to a DualShock.

I've been playing Robo-Ky and Zato on pad over the years and I still prefer pad over stick.
