Wasn't divekick supposed to be kind of a joke game to be perfectly balanced and all about skill, therefore there was only one character and just jump and divekick? I never really followed it's creation and life so I don't know if I'm misremembering or they just abandoned their own ideals to try and sell copies.

I'm not familiar how the meters work or build in that game but that looked like it used literally every last bit of meter possible. I would hope it does a lot of damage. e: looking up some footage it looks like they do that marvel time thing where every clock tick is actually 2 seconds but these are only 1v1 matches. It's understandable that marvel style games with characters instead of rounds have a longer match timer but I don't know why they feel they have to adhere to the 99 timer. I like DBFZ just putting it at 300 seconds. And for TFH I don't know if that implies the devs know that damage is low and want to try and reduce the chances of timeouts or what.

MvC:I was obviously trying to tie in real hard to Avengers/Infinity War so I'm wondering if that had Marvel/Disney put more pressure on Capcom to do things a certain way. Maybe now that they're kind of in between movies Capcom will have more freedom to do what they will? This is entirely me just being overly hopeful but I can dream.

I just wanna go back to watching Evo 3rd strike at my friends place while eating oreos and milk  .Back in those days I didn't actually follow any of these people (talking mainly late 2000s, so social media was still just getting up and running) so I just knew some names and rooted for them when watching on stream. Simpler times.

A big part of the issue isn't just 'wifi' but that the wifi cards put into all consoles blow chunks. Just straight up, they're cheap and bad. I did wireless support for student housing and lag complaints with consoles were some of the worst, primarily because there was nothing you can really do outside of trying to get a better placement. Plugging into a mesh system or quality extender, while still technically using wifi, can help a lot.
