Two of the objectives are "Don't use continues" so even that doesn't seem right.
There's no way to equip five 6 stars and I can't think of any ability that could make this easier. I'll see if I can look up some magic solution elsewhere online.

Jewel outfits and cid medals go a long way towards being able to do that, at least. Going from 46 to 36 cost is like a 12.5% decrease, and you can get like eighteen more cost from the jewel outfits.

I have all the jewel outfits and all the +cost on normal outfits and I can still only slot 4 6* medals. I need more cids, granted, but two of my medals are fully cid'd and one is halfway done. There's just not enough Cids in the game...yet.

Aren't there five cids from each of the jewel outfits? That's at least fourty cids, if I'm correct.

Woops, I miscounted, I have four medals fully cid'd and a fifth at 7 cids, totalling 47. I just got a 48th cid from a proud quest objective.

Even then, this is what happens when I try to slot 5 6*:

I know that I've still got some costumes left to unlock via leveling but I don't know if there are 22 cost nodes attached to all of them.

e: Did the proud quest, took me 2 revives, but I got insanely lucky with defense boost procs. I suspect that it'd take average 3 retries

If you are curious as to what the Timeless River Mickey Medal skill is, here you go:

quote:

Classic Bomb is an area of effect ability which always deals a set amount of damage to the enemy regardless of their defense power.

Classic Bomb has a gauge cost of 3.

Mickey Timeless River Version

So, basically a yuffie. It has high guilt, although, you know, event medal so idk how you're going to raise it. I'd imagine the damage is quite a bit higher than Yuffie, though.

Ok so Timeless Mickey is just an AoE fixed damage agility medal, so you don't have to bust your head too hard if you can't get it.
Looking up strats, I found a start. It seems poison does good damage to these enemies, especially the ones with bigger HP. If it doesn't proc on the first turn you're essentially screwed. Couple that with a buff on the first turn(Vivi, Diz, Aerith) and your best guilted medals.
Here's an imgur album one. And a text strat:

quote:

The first group, IMO, is the hardest bunch out of the entire quest for each proud quest series. If you waste all your AP on them, you're screwed for the rest of the quest. For the magic quest, I used a maxed Starlight with 5* Aerith (or any buff), guilted 6* Rikku (common story drop), any medal w/ poison (poison does HUGE damage to these guys), guilted 6* Stitch (common story drop), any medal (heal preferred if you got it; not necessary though), and another 6* Stitch for friend medal. I'd recommend using a maxed Lady Luck for this quest if you can, but I don't have one so I used a Starlight instead.
Start off the battle by buffing followed by using Rikku's special. Then normal hit the big enemy with your poison medal. If the poison does not proc, restart the quest. If poison procs, you're set. Unleash a barrage of Stitch specials. Whichever Stitch does more damage, use that one to target the big enemy. Finish off the little enemy with the lesser damage dealing one.
Next 1-2 turns, do not buff or use Rikku. Let the poison do most of the damage. Use the higher damage dealing Stitch and only heal if you need to. I only needed 2 total turns to finish off the first group.
After you beat the first group, only use the heal or AP chest if you need it. I recommend saving the AP chest for after you beat the second group so you can unleash hell on the target enemy.

Also, you can cheese quests if something doesn't work mid-battle by closing the app and reopening, which drops you back at the start of a quest with all your resources restored and no AP used.

I was all, "poo poo no way I can possibly do any of these stupid event battles" but then looked it up and saw that Timeless Mickey was pretty low on the tier list and that power seems pretty snooze so now I don't feel very bad anymore. Hope that makes anyone else in similar shoes feel better too. :unsmith:

Also, does it cost jewels to change unions? I'm on Unicornis and it looks like everyone is on Vulpes. My party is a'right for pubs but I assume goon parties are gonna be superior.

In other news, finished out my $15 week (so worth it to do it at least once, in my experience) and my Wakka came out max guilt (woop woop) and my Yuna came out 24%.

well they did clear out the first week hackers, so i imagine they'll do periodic maintenance. or at least i hope so.

also yeah my 5* was doing 1 damage and my 6*s were doing half damage that they normally do...i'm honestly wondering if there's some sort of buff or bonus that changes the damage outside of guilt because honestly, it feels very odd to have strong medals doing wet noodle damage

I haven't seen anyone mention it, but there's a lock feature to prevent you from accidentally selling or combining your medals. Tap on the medal(s) you want to lock and then tap the lock symbol in the top right.

A lock will appear in the medal list to show its active:

Picked this up over the weekend and have been playing it a bunch. Couple of newbie questions, some that I may have missed in the tutorial:

-What are these Keyblade cost nodes I keep unlocking in the avatar boards? What exactly do these do?
-Should I bother saving up my jewels? I've been using them whenever I can but I have been saving most of them as well.
-Are parties ever necessary or do they just make things easier? I've been hesitant to join any since the time i usually play is when most NA people are at school or work.
-When I start a new quest I can choose from a list of friend medals but when I try to select one, most of the time it won't let me and seems to be random. And sometimes I also find that if I move down the list one at a time from the top I can select every medal. Is there any logic to this?
-I have about 10+ Cid medals sitting in my inventory that seem to only work on 6* medals and they're taking up a lot of space in my list, can I do anything with these or just wait until they're useful?

Really enjoying this app, I find it really addictive and very wallet-friendly.

Medals have an associated cost to socket into keyblades, keyblade cost lets you socket more higher level medals

Really enjoying this app, I find it really addictive and very wallet-friendly.

1) Your keyblades come with a max "cost", which is the cost of medals. You can slot maximum five medals into a fully upgrade keyblade, but each medal costs a certain number of points (For example, a 6* Mushu costs 46 "cost" points). You cannot exceed your cost; the game will prevent you from entering a stage with an overfilled keyblade. Cost nodes increase that cost by 1, and are priority nodes for end-game.

2) Save them for the 10pull, the 10pull is almost always a good deal. At mid-to-late game you will want the Jewel Avatar Boards (IAP costumes) because they give a lot of Cost and good end-game medals.

3) Parties are excellent because if someone gets a raid boss, you will be notified; alternatively if you get stuck on a raid boss, your party can help you. You cannot proceed in the main quest unless a raid boss is cleared, or the timer expires. Raid bosses are also excellent sources of lux, which levels you up faster, which gets you more avatar boards, which gets you more cost...

4) Seems like a weird bug; make sure you're tapping the name and not the medal itself, because otherwise it'll just bring up the popup stat screen of the medal.

5) Hold onto the cid medals, they are vital and they are also finite in existence (you cannot farm them easily). They are extremely needed in the mid-to-late game.

The DiZ medal is extremely good for what we have currently, so if you wanted to 6* and cid it that's fine.

Strong common medals include: Young Hercules, Goofy, Yuna, Rikku, Selphie

Basically any multi-hit AOE medal will work well. The lower the meter cost on it, the better.

I mean, yes, you get more medals doing the 3 a day draw over multiple days, I've seen reports of people not getting a single 5* over the course of the 3k medals being spent

I guess it's up to you if you want to take that risk, I personally just do the 10pull.

this is fine, but your alternative options (the twilight town teamsters) only last two attacks instead of a full turn, and the single hit inflicted by DiZ/Aerith/Vivi is a pretty solid hit at 6*

From an infinite cost perspective I would agree but I'd rather have 2-3 6 star guilted characters boosted by DiZ than one less guilted character plus 6 star DiZ.

But 5*ing a dude quickly becomes pretty trivial and ~endgame~ you really want multiples of dudes to feed to other dudes so 15 metals over 5 days could be better than the 10 pull

The difference is the ones that come at 4*/5* normally are typically stronger then the common variants at equal star levels (i.e. KH2 cloud vs Goofy, or Master Form Sora vs Stitch). Feeding junk medals to other medals isn't really optimal unless they come with a skill.

Like I said, it's a gamble; I myself have gotten seriously lucky off the daily pull, but I've seen others who only pulled Goofys and Stitches, which, while nice, do not compare to their stronger counterparts (even guilted, tbh; I think my guilted Hercules is still weaker then Cagneys Cloud)
