If you merge 6* medals past the end of the yellow dots, you get a random boost attached to the new medal. Merging more 6* medals into that one gives you another random boost guaranteed to not be lower than what you already have.

Mission 323 is a good farming location. It always spawns a King Pretender and a Munny Egg, and sometimes a regular Pretender. I've gotten 6* Moogles, Fantasia Mickeys and sometimes Mythril Crystals.
