No I caught the first episode really drat good. It looks like Samaritan is recruiting people based off IQ and a number of other analytics. Like the guy who cornered Root was kind of offputting in his explanation ,but it made a logical sense.

Samaritan is recruiting based on people who would probably respond well to specific situations like logical situations etc.

I guess I'll spoiler this Actually, I think Samaritan isn't running a simulation on Shaw it's using Shaw to test it's weaknesses the Primary Asset, its agents, etc... if it leads to the machine great. Otherwise its just testing itself. Also that sex scene was loving awful. Lol they just grab each other and roll around is that what Samaritan imagines sex like?

Seriously, I knew something was up when they got busy cause that was just so loving weird looking.

I think that Samaritan kind of hosed up because all it really did was give Shaw 7000 simulations of how to murder/escape/cause havoc. So basically she's just been in a prison escape and murder simulator for a full year. That's kind of crazy.

It was really loving crazy when Samaritan spoke to Root through the speaker that was such a pants making GBS threads moment.

Goddamn this season has been firing on all cylinders, they even got the goofy episode with the wedding.

That was loving awesome. Team Machine is all together. Also, Samaritan doesn't have the whole scenario what with Fusco now on team Machine and everyone together.

I see that they are keeping with the tradition of naming devastating episodes after NIN songs. Tomorrows episode is "The Day the World Went Away".

4 more episodes :( .

Dont worry you are not alone I notice it as well. They have those guns now that are airsoft and do the correct slide motion. Why they don't use them sometimes I dunno, it seems 50/50.

Also, we must get Discouraged God Mode.

That was supposed to say fuscoe but I am leaving it.

I don't think it's open access yet just that the system is no longer being deleted each night. I think Root was pushing Harold to take off the restraining orders. It's fully open meaning it's fully aware and isn't deleted each night ,but it still has some restrictions. Root wants Harold to remove those restrictions which is what I think he will do.

That's my take on it. Machine is fully aware but still inside a "cage".

Yeah that's the impression I got as well was that the machine finally wasn't being murdered every single day at midnight and that if they wanted to could get more information, but Finch doesn't want it that way.

Yeah when Root started talking about simulation consciousness etc... I knew she was going to die :( . Also, holy poo poo did they just bring a form of Roko's Basilisk?

For those that are unaware it's this hilarious though experiment.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3OFfSf7ukwg

I was talking about this video. If this is Root as the Machine

" Hello, if you're hearing this. I'm probably already dead. Did we win? Did we lose? I don't know. I'm not even sure what victory would mean anymore. We lost you. I thought we couldn't lose anymore. I had no idea ,but either way if your hearing this. Know one thing. It's over. So let me tell you what we did to fight back "

This is a loving weird narration if Root is dead. Unless they decided to just gently caress with the audience.

I think this is the machine talking to Root ( human ) who's in a simulation?

Pretty sure you're over thinking it and it's start of season Root recording a message for Shaw (who is "lost") about how they're responding to Samaritan" winning" at the end of season 4.

Why would Root tell Shaw she was alone that doesn't really make sense. I am pretty sure that the machine is either talking to it's child that it creates or it's talking to Root.

I'm kind of leaning toward everyone's dead and the machine created a failsafe.

I don't think anyone is going to make it out of this season alive.

Wasn't there a Senator that was a asset of Samaritan. Maybe it didn't protect the president because it was maneuvering that Senator in place for control of the country?

Hrmmmm

http://www.name-doctor.com/name-talas-meaning-of-talas-26466.html

quote:

This name derives from the Greek “talôs (τάλως)”, meaning “talon, claw”. Talōs was a giant man of bronze who protected Europa in Crete from pirates and invaders by circling the island's shores three times daily while guarding it. In the Cretan dialect, Talôs was the equivalent of the Greek Hêlios, the Sun: the lexicon of Hesychius of Alexandria notes simply "Talos is the Sun". In Crete, Zeus was worshipped as Zeus Tallaios, "Solar Zeus", absorbing the earlier god as an epithet in the familiar sequence.

Seems like it kind of makes sense for this to be it.
