 The only time I remember evolution being brought up in school was in the 6th grade when my science teacher just skipped over that chapter, saying that since he didn't believe in it he's not going to teach it. Never came up in any other year until I learned about it in college. I imagine a large majority of people around me don't believe in evolution, but it's not like the topic would have come up for discussion.
