I had the same problem on the Switch version - Queue has to be turned off to purchase units with gold or faith. It's not terribly intuitive.

"Queue off" should be sufficient!

I'm having trouble with the Barbarian Clans mechanics. I don't know how to do the new interactions with them besides Raiding or Destroying the camp. On top of that, AI Civs keep clearing camps or the Barbarians become City-States. Any advice?
