Few advices from my limited experience:

When selecting motherboard and case check the relative positions of your PSU and power sockets on the motherboard. Most motherboards have 20-pin connector on the edge, but it can be either top or right one. Depending on the location of the PSU in the case one of the motherboard edges may be preferable.

Also check where the 4-pin connector is. Some motherboards have it on the edge, some have it near CPU socket. Guess which one is easier to connect in an already cramped case...
