Well, you see, it didn't get them all the way in one go so the technology is therefore completely dogshit and they must never use it ever again. Yeah but not by much. The Taliban had been a thing for awhile so I don't think it's a coincidence

I remember just absolutely groaning that the first episode of Enterprise featured time travel and a Klingon. Like, dang, not a good start.

True but I definitely had to double check the year it was released

Just started watching Enterprise with my daughter. The time travel in episode 1 was fine, the real cringe was the attempt at making it sexy with the decontamination gel rub down. Yes, zoom in on those oily hands rubbing her lower bits. Make sure her nipples are stiff enough they could put a man's eye out. This is serious sci-fi!

And here I will reference the episode of TNG, "Who Watches the Watchers?" wherein Peecard states that a disastrous first contact with the Klingon Empire led to war. So apparently that whole first mission was viewed as a disaster.

I remember fans getting mad that they Klingons were using a ship from a century-plus later instead of having something original designed for the period. TBH I didn't love it either.
Isn't the Klingon Empire like 2000 years old? Makes sense their ship designs might not change so quickly
DS9 did give us a new Klingon ship design but it was basically just the old battlecruiser design with ground effects and a spoiler

Didn't the time travel of First Contact mean that things that had previously happened in history during Enterprise's time period, happened a little differently or not at all?

Oh the dumb part was that they did have an original ship designed for the period all ready to go (made for free by the artists after staying awake for 36 hours at the last minute to get it done) but they didn't use it because of some power play flex thing with the VFX company. The real prime timeline is the one where Voyager took decades to get home, Janeway left that one and created the lovely timeline we are now in.
