I hope that Dia stops being dumb and rekindles her love of idols soon, so she and her sister can be super-fans and nerds together again. That was really annoying this episode. They've had a bunch of references before, last episode basically played on the viewer knowing about μ's first concert, but I think this was the first time they were so unsubtle about it. Outright comparing characters to μ is pretty annoying. Hopefully they get that all out of their system soon, because a lot of the comparisons don't even seem all that similar.

Was the confirmed as announcing their win though? I assumed it was just some sort of promotional video, especially since it was Start:Dash and not Kira Kira Sensation or whatever. Might just be an anniversary of the Love Live competition as a whole, but since μ's apparently revolutionized School Idols everywhere of course they'd be milking their image forever.

Since we're apparently 5+ years out from OG LL, an older Honks could show up to mentor Chika. They even have a character design for her already. That said, I really hope they don't have any true cameos.

dia is explicitly a huge u's fan though, that's an actual character trait of hers, and that line might have been just so you can think 'did she become stuco prez just because of eli?' and iunno, i think trying to match the sunshine girls to the og ones is a dumb trend at this point. there are some similar traits among the cast but they're shuffled around so much as to be basically meaningless as comparison points. dia and eli are stuco presidents that resist the idea of there being a school idol club but their motivations for that, their personalities, and their relationships with the characters around them are completely different, which are the things that actually matter in a character.

Eh, I think it got unbearable last episode, now it is just a thing. Maybe I didn't mind because Rin is the best forever. A part of me really wants a Honoka cameo to happen, if only because it'll be the first time Emi Nitta makes an appearance in anything since Final Live. I don't mind the sprinkles of μ's here and there, but I'll agree that the old/new comparisons are a bit much. I hope they break out from that soon, because as characters they're different enough to establish themselves as their own thing.
