I always assumed livestock pens before loading them onto the trains. It is the ranch district after all. The tweaked lighting looks great! Squiggle fucked around with this message at 23:04 on Mar 7, 2018 |

Lighting revamp near-final draft is up on staging branch now (pw: 'dontstagemebro'). Have a look for me, will be listed as v1.4 Doesn't include lighting variations for freelance yet, just new lights for all the in-level elements, backup lighting for specific elements when the power substations go down, and dedicated lights for all explosives (except for pipelines). If it's seafoam green, either it's an objective or it'll kill you. Also I fixed West End Slums as much as I could without rejiggering the whole map, should be more interesting to play now. If your computer shits the bed but doesn't with the regular branch or something else weird happens, let me know. Otherwise some areas might feel very different, some not at all. If there are areas where you get a distinct George Lucas feeling in your gut, please let me know.

Initially I was a little off but I think it was just my brain going AAAGH THINGS CHANGED but after a run on Inner City everything seemed pretty much normal again, as it was. West End Slums has some stuff littering the streets that looks like it's leftover from when you were editing it, just outside the gate to the very explosive area. I was a little worried when you said that you were reworking the map, but I don't have any real beef with the changes. The middle area with the substation is a little awkward, but that was true before too. I will definitely say that the new lighting makes it much easier to see danger spots with the power out. The emergency lighting looks great too. The comm towers are lit with the cyan "this explodes" dangerlights even though they don't explode- not sure if that's on purpose or not, since the substations don't seem to be lit with the same colour. The sort of dusty red that the streetlights with the ladders on them give off looks awesome, really noticed it the most in the Enos Reconstruction Zone. I was noticing that neon signs and such were exploding with the electric kzzt-pop even with the power out, can't remember if they used to do that or not, but my brain thinks it that didn't used to happen? Any levels in particular that got changed a ton that we should have a look at? I did a few 4-5 length runs to get a good sampling.

Playing a bit more because Brigador is fun and also to look at new stuff. While you're looking at map edits, would you be willing to consider a second exit on Sinistra Necropolis? It's only got the one, and it's often a very very long walk back to the exit the way it's laid out. And on Gasworks Turnpike there's a bit of the level that always looked like it wasn't meant to be assembled the way it is:

The chicken legs would collapse backwards and you'd nest the unit to the rear between them! Unbelievable.

Guns for hands mean not having to pull the trigger so your robot pulls the trigger Flimsy fingers on a fragile trigger is the "Aim here" problem for your weaponry. But obviously the best is when you have the option for both hands for guns and guns for hands

Nah, you put the gun on the roof! Or in a nice turret, like a sensible lunatic.

The picking up guns thing makes sense until you think about the fact that there are probably not just going to be robot-sized guns laying around to pick up, and you would have to go back to your hangar to go get more guns/magazines anyway. Might as well make sure they're mounted stably with an internal loader in that case.

idg the point about the exposed box, having your missiles/rockets just sitting out in the open is basically how every AFV carries its missiles around unless they store them internally and fire them out of their main gun like the sheridan or soviet tanks can plus the hand carried bazooka has like, what, one round? whoopty-doo

Both of these designs are completely irrelevant when a tuk-tuk can just double donk them, destroying both instantly.
