Why is everything in my browser so stupidly loving slow in Windows 10? what the hell is going on? I've tried all the fixes and now I can only thing this is some sort of punishment from our lord jesus christ. Or are they trying to push us into using Edge, out of sheer desperation?

that said if you haven't put a solid state drive in your computer yet, you need to, because that is the absolute single best upgrade you can do

yeah in most machines anymore, hard drive read and write speed is your bottleneck. most all low-end processors and ram these days will spit back any and all mundane tasks instantly. get a cheapo smaller solid state and put your OS on it. then use your caveman spinny drive for bulky poo poo like music, porn vids, and steam games.

people are naturally attracted to stupid animated moving poo poo. Bonzi Buddy is worth the slowdown, though, cause he helps me with email and browsing.

I dunno OP, I disabled updates in Windows 7 a long time ago (if it aint broken why fix it). So I didn't get the forced upgrade to the bad operating system. Disclaimer - I did actually upgrade to Windows 10 for about a week, but it couldn't handle HDMI audio after the computer went to sleep so I went back to Windows 7 where that worked... how long is Windows 10 gonna exist before Microsoft forces you to "upgrade" to Windows 365 with a monthly subscription fee?

How come all those resources and $$ Microsoft has don't translate into excellent products ? I assume they can afford the best programmers in the world. People who grew up using Windows and are fully aware of the stuff that was wrong. How can these screw-ups happen ? Surely they have computers they test the stuff on. Feels like programing a good OS is more difficult than the Atomic or Apollo programs. Those were difficult, but they threw money at it until it worked. Microsoft can do the same, but they don't somehow.

I don't get it.

Yeah I gave Windows 10 a chance but my desktop refused to go into sleep mode, which worked fine again when I reverted back to Windows 7. Which doesn't even many any sense because they use the same loving drivers.

i've used firefox on windows, osx, and linux, and on every single one firefox quickly chomps up as much RAM as that OS will allow and then just sits there running the CPU freeing up little chunks of memory then immediately reallocating them. it does this infinitely until you close it. even if you have just 1 tab running, on windows 7 that's a 1.5 gigabyte tab.
