Well, it is a little bit. If you've never watched Girls und Panzer, you are in for a treat, it's an amazing sports show in every sense of the word. This show has more in common with Kuroko's Basket and Major than K-ON or Non Non Biyori. It's the most hot blooded show starring cute girls. Note: the rules of tanks say you can only use WWII tanks. This includes tanks in production that never saw combat. Your Characters  Oorai Girls High School https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6Ek3h4HTRE Your protagonists. A small school that just started up their tank program. They don't really have a theme; they just use whatever tanks they have lying around. They are organized into teams that operate individual tanks. ANGLERFISH TEAM (Panzer IV)  Your main main characters. Miho is in the center. The strategist of the whole team and commander of her tank. She's a member of the famous Nishizumi family of tank warfare, but got kicked out of their school. She is the main character. Mako (lying down) is the driver of the tank. Extremely sleepy. Needs to join the tank club so she doesn't get held back a year for her insane number of tardies. Saori (glasses) is the radio operator of her tank. She's extremely thirsty and wants a boyfriend. Thinks she knows a lot about men even thought she has never had a boyfriend.  best girl on her team Hana (to the right of Miho) is the gunner of her tank. She is the heir to a prestigious flower arranging family, but doesn't actually like flower arrangement that much. She's the tall, black haired, formal and traditional one. Yukari (behind Miho) is a huge nerd. She's the loader and she loving loves tanks. She weebs whenever she sees a real, live tank. You are supposed to identify with her.TURTLE TEAM [Panzer 38(t)]  The student council team. Led by Anzu (nurse), the student council president and commander/gunner of her tank. Extremely short. Has machinations and plans the rest of the team don't really understand. Really good at bending the Ministry of Education's rules. Yuzu (lying down) is really boring and isn't really that interesting. She's the loader/gunner of her tank and the PR manager of the student council. Momo (doctor) is a vaguely autocratic thug who is merciless in attaining her goals. She's the driver of her tank, the Vice President and has a monocle. HIPPO TEAM (StuG III Ausf.F)  The greatest team. They are the history club, and they believe they are reincarnations of famous historical leaders. Erwin (blonde with German military cap) is the commander of the tank, but never attends strategy meetings. Believes she is Erwin Rommel. Caesar (brown hair with scarf) is the loader and co-commander of the team. She goes to strategy meetings instead of Erwin. She believes she is Julius Caesar. best girl on her team Saemonza (one eye) is the gunner of the tank. She loves the Sengoku period and believes she is Sanada Yukimura. Oryou (glasses) is the driver of the tank. Named after Narasaki Ryō.DUCK TEAM (Type 89B Otsu)  The former volleyball team. Think that if they do well in tanks the volleyball team will return. Their names are unimportant. MALLARD TEAM (Char B1 bis)  Hall monitors. The only person you need to know is Sodoko (middle) the chief hall monitor who has an antagonistic relationship with Mako. RABBIT TEAM (M3 Lee)  The first years. They do dumb poo poo all the time. Don't worry about them. ANTEATER TEAM (Type 3 Chi-Nu)  A bunch of loving nerds who met over World of Tanks. Incredibly weak but train really hard to become strong. LEOPON TEAM [Tiger (P)]  The automotive club. I wish we saw more of them, they're really cool. They are incredibly bad at tanks, have no money and are more interested in partying and eating good food than winning. Led by Anchovy aka Il Duce, twintails there. They use lovely Italian tanks, so Carri Veloci CV.33s and Semoventi da 75/18s. Saunders University Girls High School  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zg-C8A4VvL4 AMERICA!!!! They love Coca-Cola, burgers, K-rations and rock n' roll. God Bless the USA. They use Shermans, Shermans and more Shermans. Led by Kay (blonde one). She is brash and all-American. Pravda Girls High School  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Yl-DvkX0hY Russia, God's chosen country. They love the cold. Their tactics hinge on waiting for conditions to turn poor so they can destroy you with their cold weather equipped tanks. They have 3 characters that matter, Klara, a real life Russian foreign exchange student, Nonna, the second in command (black haired girl in the vid) and Katyusha (small blonde girl in vid). Nonna carries Katyusha around on her shoulders and acts as her personal assistant. Katyusha is small, brash and has a large cult of personality surrounding her. She cannot speak Russian, and is just a Russia weeb. They use IS-series and T-series tanks.Kuromorimine Girls High School  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtlF-Nhz94g Germany. The original bad guys. They are led by Miho's sister, Maho (brown hair). An extremely prestigious high school that follow the Nishizumi school of tank warfare. What does this mean? I'm not sure. They make bad decisions, charging in at the slightest provocation. Led by Kunoyo Nishi who is so unimportant, I don't think her name was mentioned at all. They use Type 95s and 97s. Garbage. They steal all their tanks from someone else (notably Pravda) and trick opponents into doing stupid poo poo. Led by Mika, who carries a kantele everywhere she goes. Plays Finnish folk songs on the attack. Selection University  A college team. Led by Alice Shimada, a prodigy who advanced to college despite being young. They use the best tanks. Think of a good WWII tank. They have it. What to Watch The only required watching is the main series, the Anzio OVA and der Film. Everything else isn't important. 63rd National Senshado Tournament Battle Reports.  Bracket:  /a/ did some translations for the KMM v. St. Gloriana fight in the (other) semifinal:  quote:We sort of know. The KMM were well prepared for both desert and Continuation so they advanced and fired in order from long range. But Continuation is apparently full of fantastic drivers so they basically did a charge and actually succeeded into getting into close range. IIRC, they, for sure, took out 3 tanks and may have taken out half or so. The team leader's tank (i.e. Mika's) was the last to go down, fighting furiously. Apparently, the spectators really liked the fight.
