It still kinda shocks me that this team had Rob Scuderi and professor Johnston and I was pretty happy that JR lottery protected the pick for the Kessel trade and then they won the Stanley Cup

The team was completely transformed in a few months' time, and not just by the coaching change. The Penguins' sudden and years-overdue willingness to let young guys like Sheary and Rust and Kuhnhackl play instead of burying them behind old never-weres was a welcome development too.

I would like to see the Penguins replace Lovejoy and/or Jultz by just letting Derrick Pouliot play for at least like 3 months and seeing if he steps up or not. I'd rather do that before giving him away pretty much for free, which it feels like is what the Pens are probably going to do.

Seeing reports that Calgary has cooled off on trying to trade for Fleury because Rutherford wants their sixth overall pick for it. That's smart on Calgary's end, but I don't think Rutherford is being foolish with his approach either. There is no necessary reason to trade Fleury at this exact moment, so why not shoot for the stars, especially with Andersen off the market?

My cousin is like that. No history of alcoholism in the family, not in the least bit religious, he just doesn't like the idea. His wife insisted he have a sip of champagne at his wedding. The ensuing grimace made it look like he'd been forced to drink poison. It's kind of part of his identity too. He'd just always be DD when people went out, and usually got to drink pop for free all evening and then people would get drunk and buy him food too. He loved it. Some people just don't drink, all power to them.

I'm just a little disappointed that Phil's day with the cup didn't include any acknowledgement of Hot Dog-gate, though I suppose it probably ended up being a sore spot for him in the end (or maybe he doesn't really use the internet in which case he wouldn't know about its existence).
