SUNKOS posted:If we really do see new consoles next year then I think there's going to be some developers out there who simply can't keep up with the technology changes. Take this E3 for example, we finally saw the first glimpses of games from studios who have yet to release a single game for this generation of consoles, and may not get them out until the Neo/Scorpio are on the scene anyways, with the remainder only just getting their first games of the generation out before it ends. I know that Microsoft and Sony are eager to emphasize that Neo/Scorpio aren't replacing the PS4/XB1 but the leap in power will be tremendous so it's hard to see how they're going to position the new consoles as worthwhile upgrades if they're simply playing the exact same games with extra pixels. At the very least the Scorpio is absolutely confirmed. Microsoft announced it at their E3 press event. It's designed for native 4K resolution, 60fps, and VR, and Microsoft claims without any compromise to graphic fidelity in doing all of that.

I said come in! posted:My parents have a 65" 4K TV that is 120hz for one HDMI port and 240 for the other. Hes talking about the inputs. The first hdtv's only had hdmi 1.4 inputs which can do 4k/30hz at 4:4:4 subsampling.. A year or two after everyone was getting atleast one if not more hdmi 2.0 ports which do 4k/60hz just fine. The tv may refresh at 120hz, but its only receiving a 30 or 60hz signal and it duplicates frames. edit: though there are tv's (like the vizio p series) that can accept 1080p/120hz inputs from a pc.

I use the right stick to turn horizontally and use the motion controls to aim vertically and fine tune left and right aiming. Splatoon is fun.

For Splatoon controls, I just set it to the thumb sticks only and stick to the roller, which I enjoy using anyways.

Pre HDMI 2.0 4K sets are still in the wild and are generally the cheap door busters most people are likely to buy. TV's that take 120hz input is intriguing, I didn't know such sets existed. I think I need a TV now.

I've tried so many times to use the motion controls in Splatoon but I can't get used to them disabling the y axis in the right Stick. I get that the motion control is just for fine-tuning the aim, but you can't move the camera up or down with the stick AT ALL and my mind can't accept that.
