lmao Anyway this game still owns a lot Is there a consistent or semi consistent way to farm star fragments? I pretty much never look up at the sky unless I'm scanning for dragons.

Parking yourself at the summit of Mount Lanayru and looking to the northwest every night is supposed to work relatively well iirc.

Elephant Ambush posted:lmao Here’s my strategy. Get a flame weapon to easily start camp fires and get a bunch of wood. Warp to the shrine on top of dueling peaks and drop a campfire. You want to rest until morning twice which hopefully resets the falling star spawn, then rest till nighttime. The star will always fall within your camera’s field of vision. You can either looks towards Hyrule castle or looks towards Hateno tower. Park Link in either direction (I prefer Hyrule Castle) and wait. The star will fall between 9:30PM and 3AM game time or it sometimes fails to spawn at all. You have until 5AM to collect it. If your facing Hateno, warp to the tower and glide off to get it, pray it doesn’t clip inside of a cliffside. If your facing Hyrule Castle, usually you can warp to the shrine near riverside stable and run and grab it. If you get a star, warp back up to the dueling peaks, drop a campfire, sleep till morning twice, then sleep till nighttime and do it all again. If you go 3 or more nights with no star fall, you can try this trick to reset the game’s memory/cache. (This also works with pesky dragons failing to spawn…) Eventide island in the lower right corner is special in the game and it can reset the game’s memory for some reason almost similar to a blood moon. I don’t fully understand it, but warp to the shrine there, drop a campfire, and rest 2-3 nights there. Then warp back to dueling peaks and try again.

Playing through OOT for the first time since release and I am like - goddamn did I have a ton of time back then. I've been completely lost a few times where back in the day I could just keep banging my head on stuff and now I am like - how did I ever figure this out? It's fun seeing how Z-targeting was in it's infancy vs something like the Souls targeting system. Very primitive but it works in the game - enemies are pretty slow so jumping around fucks em up.

(Actually quit back to the home screen and restart game, not just save and reload.)

Thanks I'll try that. I haven't seen Farosh much lately so that might help.

Also, Star Fragments only disappear if 5 AM is witnessed by Link. If you can't get to the Star Fragment by 5AM, drop some logs and light a campfire (Teleport to a shrine elsewhere if you need to), and rest until evening. You now have a whole new night to run down the Star Fragment.

"Found" that deserted island that takes away your stuff that was mentioned. Figured something fun was on that island way out there and I was right. Up to 80 shrines now and that one, so far, was the most fun. Really jived well with my bomb-based strategies. The hardest monsters were cheesed by the mighty camel. Next task I think is fully upgrading the climbing gear now that I found it all. Pretty easy to find once I figured out how to splatter lynels. Up to 80 shrines now and that one, so far, was the most fun. Really jived well with my bomb-based strategies. The hardest monsters were cheesed by the mighty camel. That's definitely my favorite shrine so far. I'm at the point where I'm farming clothing upgrade materials and dragon parts and I haven't even started trying to gather star fragments. Anyway while looking for DLC clothes I found a spot where I can semi consistently farm Farosh parts. He comes out of the pool at the top of highest waterfall in the jungle area. I was farming the treasure chests there and he suddenly came out of the water right next to me. I almost had a heart attack. Where did he even come from? The pool isn't that deep! Anyway he shows up in that area around 5am so I can rest by a fire and teleport back there using the Traveler's Medallion.

If I'm thinking of the correct spot there should be a cliff overhang you can start a fire under nearby. Rest, fire off an arrow, rest, fire off an arrow, repeat, go collect all the dragon parts at once.

Rest, fire off an arrow, rest, fire off an arrow, repeat, go collect all the dragon parts at once. This is correct. You can make the fire in the cave overlooking the pool near the mouth and farm dragon parts (horns easily if you have a long range bow). Just bring along a ton of arrows, piles of wood, a fire weapon or lots of flint, and a long bow. Make sure the dragon parts actually land before starting the cycle again.

Thanks for the tip. You can only get one part from a dragon per encounter, correct? I tried giving him the UZI treatment last time I saw him and only got a scale.

# ? Jan 29, 2022 03:26 |

Yeah I think so. I've tried to harvest more than one scale at a time and I've never succeeded.

I think I'm done farming upgrade materials. I don't have everything maxed out but I stopped caring. I have a million other unplayed games so I think I'm going to finish it this week. I'm going do the extra Champions mission first though. This game was very much worth playing and one of these days I'll go back to it and find all the shrines I missed. I'm really happy that I played this game almost completely blind and didn't look up anything unless I was totally stuck which was only a few times. I hope the sequel is just as amazing.

Also you can cheese the whole thing by simply running ahead of him all the way to the shrine. To help you stay on the right path use your Stasis to highlight the pickable plants along the path (there are none outside the path). Once you're at the shrine, hide behind it and don't reveal yourself to the kid until he stops in front of it.

Most annoying thing in the game, easily. e: I'll do that skip next time I complete the game. Weirdly the wolf didn't give me trouble, I only saw it in my final try and I just instantly shot it without any trouble.

Get tons of dough, offer merch and collaboration rewards to the fans who really want them, and everyone else can just buy the game when it's out without needing to pledge because this is nearly fully funded after like an hour. Everyone wins
