On this 4th of July weekend, my father caught a heavily pregnant catfish with eggs in her with my redneck neighbor helping out by getting the fish in a net when it was near shore and pulling it to dry land together. Was about 3.5 feet big.
The bait used was a chunk of terribly burnt Italian sausage attached to the hook.

So take that as you will.
