Sometimes it's fun watching stuff in a group! Impromptu streams can be difficult to organize and often get lost in the shuffle in random threads, so here's a dedicated thread for them.

Post about a stream in here if you start one!

Common Livestreaming Options:
https://synchtu.be/: Synchtube and clones. Can stream videos from hosts like Youtube or Dailymotion and is compatible with any https video link. Can be annoying with ads between videos. Cytube is currently the preferred site since they have the only workaround for Google Drive's new player.
https://rabb.it/: rabb.it. Able to stream content from virtually any web link. You can log into your Crunchyroll, Hulu, Netflix, or whatever with it, and stream using your sub.

Google Drive works with virtually any video container, but it can't play softsubs. To work around this, you either use an already hardsubbed video source (usually as an .mp4) or hardsub the video yourself. The easiest way to do this is to open the video in Handbrake, click on the subtitles tab, and click add track. Then check the burn-in option next to the subtitles and start encoding. Use auto passthru in the audio tab to copy the audio stream if its in a lossy format (e.g., AAC or MP3) or encode to AAC if it's lossless (e.g, FLAC).

Grabbing a hardsubbed release is preferred because 1) it's easier, and 2) hardsubbed releases will be free of formatting errors that Handbrake can introduce.

If you want fancy hardsubs that properly render the typesetting Handbrake messes up, use this guide.

I'm sure a lot of people in this thread know about it but I've been streaming anime openings by year on a semi-regular basis. It has its own thread that I usually post in when I'm gonna run it (such as tonight, for instance!).

But I also stream actual episodes of things on occasion and I wanna get back into doing that in the near future! I typically pick episodic stuff so that way people can jump in whenever since it's not like you need to know a lot of Lupin facts to enjoy any ol Lupin episode.

Subject to change depending on personal situation, but I will endeavor to start at that time as much as I possibly can. The next three shows on the docket are

It's a new one for me, too. We will do S2 eventually, but only because it recently ended or something and want to give it a little breathing room before we synctube it.
