Pancracius Boselmann Nodding as the others speak, Pancracius taps away at a dataslate held in his hands, while Vault hulks at his side, silent and still. "Nurgle rituals are by definition hard to properly ward and contain, they tend to leak power to the surrounding area, which then leads to an uptick in rates of illness. We might do well to check the local hospices and see if there are any unusual outbreaks, especially ones that are disfiguring or hard to treat. That could at least eliminate the workers as a possibility. A ritual done among the nobles Spires or Mechanicus will take more work to find, they aren't likely to let infected wander away to where we can find them." pre:Name: Pancracius Boselmann Archetype: Apostate Alignment: Unaligned, leaning Tzeentch Concept: Scholar/Researcher in Banca's service Pride: Logic Disgrace: Dread Motivation: Arcane Stats: WSk: 33 = 25 + 8 BSk: 40 = 25 + 15 Str: 30 = 25 + 8 - 3 [Arcane] Tou: 35 = 25 + 10 Agi: 37 = 25 + 12 Int: 48 = 25 + 16 + 5 [Pride] + 2 [Arcane] Per: 41 = 25 + 16 - 5 [Pride] + 5 [Dread] Wil: 36 = 25 + 16 - 5 [Dread] Fel: 41 = 25 + 11 + 5 [Apostate] Inf: 26 = 19 + 2 + 5 Cor: 10 = 03 + 4 [Arcane] + 3 Wounds: 13/13 Skills: Awareness Charm + 10 Command Deceive + 10 Inquiry + 10 Dodge Commerce Logic Knowledge Skills: Common Lore (Imperium, Administratum) Forbidden Lore (Daemonology, Archeotech, The Inquisition) Linguistics (Low Gothic) Scholastic Lore (Occult, Cryptology, Chymistry, Numerology) Trade (Chymist) Talents: Air of Authority Hatred (CSM) Peer (Administratum) Total Recall Unshakeable Will Weapon Training (Las, Primary) Disturbing Voice Polyglot Lesser Minion of Chaos (Servitor that is a Walking Warded Lockbox for storing our heretical poo poo) Traits: The Quick And The Dead Serpents Tongue Emaciated Gear: Good Laspistol Common Power Blade (traded for Vault's Light Power Armor) Mesh Armour Chaos Pendant Unholy Tomes Best-Craftsmanship Reaver Long Rifle - Acquisition Common Refractor Field - Acquisition, given to Vault Exp [1300/2100] K:0/N:0/S:1/T:2 Exotic Weapon Training (Reaver Long Rifle) - 500 Deadeye Shot - 250 Scholastic Lore (Numerology) - 200 Deceive (Trained) - 350 Vault, the Mobile Warded Vault Servitor (Ogryn Chasis) pre:Lesser Minion Of Chaos (Mobile Warded Vault Servitor) Name: Vault WSk: 26 = 10 + 16 BSk: 18 = 10 + 8 Str: 31 = 10 + 16 + 5 Tou: 31 = 10 + 16 + 5 Agi: 25 = 10 + 15 Int: 15 = 10 + 10 - 5 Per: 22 = 10 + 12 Wil: 21 = 10 + 11 Fel: 13 = 10 + 8 - 5 Wounds: 9 Armor: 7 TB: 3 Skills: Awareness Athletics Dodge Security Talents: Cold Hearted Orthoproxy Sound Constitution x3 Traits: Size (5) Sturdy Machine (2) Equipment: Light Power Armour Common Refractor Field chin up everything sucks fucked around with this message at 19:38 on Jan 14, 2017 |

Pancracius Boselmann "Yes, we might as well get this done with. I'd suggest that we first check with the staff, and if they remember anything unusual we start checking whatever records they have to see what information we can find. While I'm talking, take a quick look through some of the Wards, just in case it's actually the staff itself. If you find anything that could be dangerous, we can store it in Vault until we can investigate it safely. I think that covers everything that might give us information there." Pancracius lets his gaze wander across the rest of the group as he continues to think. "Do remember to not flash your insignia around until we have some kind of lead to work with, if somebody gets alarmed we could find a full fledged plague across the entire hive... or daemons... or find nothing at all. The more competent we make Inquisitor Whitehall look, the better the odds he can pull the strings needed to help Banca."

Pancracius Boselmann Pancracius smiles coldly as he looks towards his fellow acolytes, standing not far from the warehouse. "Pathetic security measures, standard worker rebellion recruiting, no good escape route because of the volcano below... I don't know how they survived this long. Probably because nobody cared about worker discontent. So, suggest some plans. Brute force might let the important people get away, if we missed something. They are patting down people who go in, so we can't sneak in with guns easily. Rodan, think you can walk in unarmed and open the side door for us? If we can get inside with armor and guns, the workers will be defenceless, so we only need to worry about the real troublemakers being armed. We should have one or two of us covering the front as well, so nobody can escape. Myself or Jenny are probably best equipped for that. Thoughts?"

Pancracius Boselmann Stifling a sigh as the sounds of panic begin to come through the closed door, Pancracius takes a stun grenade from Cully without comment. "Right. Primary objective is kill anyone we can't guarantee capturing, we can check the corpses for information later. Take the door down, Jenny can handle the front." Init Roll: 15

Pancracius Boselmann A quick glance through the nearest office window is enough to show Pancracius that people are fleeing the building towards the entrance. He needed to slow them down. A few steps forward puts him in front of the glass, and quick bash from his free hand is enough to drop a few big shards out of the now shattered pane. The sudden pain clawing up his hand is enough to make him tense up as his right arm flings forward in a throwing motion, dropping the grenade just short of the Apostates feet. Pancracius moved to the leftmost window, broke it, and tossed a grenade. Vault has followed him. Toughness test to avoid breaking hand vs 35: 38, failure Stun grenade thrown at apostate, vs 50: 100! Pancracius Boselmann Pancracius shrugs his reaver long rifle off of his shoulder and starts cursing as he notices the string of lights indicating that the weapon had malfunctioned. Quickly he props the weapons barrel in the broken window to free up a hand for popping the magazine free and then dislodging the chambered ammunition. Draw gun, clear jam

Pancracius Boselmann Ignoring the chaotic firefight going on around him, Pancracius takes his time to aim at the grenade-toting leader through the iron-sights on his rifle, calmly pulling the trigger to fire a single shot through the smoke even as light starts bending oddly around his target from the sudden gravitational anomaly that was forming in the same space. Sorry, was waiting for my turn to come up in the action order. Half action aim, half action single shot. Pancracius Boselmann The Instar-infested crag-whore-fucker took a perfectly good shot to the head, and he refused to die! Howling in sudden senseless rage, Pancracius dropped his gun on the ground as he dashed forward towards the leader, hands outstretched as if to strangle the man for his disrespect for a perfectly good shot. Pancracius Boselmann Rubbing his balding head with both hands, Pancracius's eyes fix on Banca with anguish, and maybe just a bit of obsession, showing in them. "I'm sorry Banca, but we have to do this. We have to free you. We have sacrificed so much to try and bring you back..." As the planning session proceeds, the adept shakes his head in negation. "If we go in guns blazing, they may destroy everything we need to banish Xanaroch. After all, the logical assumption would be that we are cultists, especially if Inquisitor Sloane knows of the plague cult in Gunmetal City. We need to secure as much of the location as we can before they do anything rash. Could we announce ourselves as allies of Inquisitor Sloane, with a bound daemonhost in tow that needs to be stored? That would likely get us access to the location." Bought Deceive at +10, banking 150xp chin up everything sucks fucked around with this message at 17:12 on Oct 7, 2016 |

Pancracius Boselmann Pancracius's gaze finds itself fixed on Cully's retreating form, his clenched hands trembling slightly at his side. Cullys casual disregard for Banca's life did that to him, most of the time. Still, he kept himself under control. Trying to berate the man for his words would simply send him into a rage that would likely result in Pancracius's injury. "Unfortunately Tess, that would seem to be the case. I managed to trip over the one I picked up after that mission, and, well, it has a rather nice tear going halfway across it. But we need to find someway to sneak inside, or we risk everything we need being destroyed. Searching a Hive for a hidden facility is like trying to find a Grimlet in a swamp though..."

Pancracius Boselmann How bad could chaos spawn be, compared to the terror of a daemonhost? Pancracius Boselmann Pancracius woke back up with a start, his heart already racing from the adrenalin that had been dumped into his veins. What was going on?! Where was he? He wasn't on his bed, he was in his clothing and... Memory returned suddenly, causing the adept to suddenly roll onto his belly and bring his gun to bear in front of him. Combat raged around him, while Vault stood and twitched at his side. Whitehall and Xanaroch... no, she was Banca, not Xanaroch he reminded himself, were fighting the abomination just in front of him. They had saved him, again. The rifle in his hand belched a shot at the creature before Pancracius could even stop to think about it, his trembling finger pulling the trigger out of sheer reflex, sending a bullet flying over the combatants head. Pancracius Boselmann Pan begins to trail behind the group as his mind tries to wrap around Xanarochs words. He couldn't trust them, he knew that the Daemon mixed lies with truth in order to find the most damning ways to say things... but sometimes the truth was more damning than any lie. Whitehall is desperate. He is taking risks on unsubstantiated rumor now, risks that put him at odds with one of his own colleagues. The chaos spawn being released below shows that something is wrong here, any Inquisitor should be destroying such beasts, not releasing them... Yet Whitehall didn't question it. Is she too obsessed? Does he believe that what he thinks must be true because he hopes it is, rather than because he has proof? Why would an Inquisitor who binds daemons for eternity know how to release a daemon anyways? Such knowledge would go completely against their goal... None of this adds up. If Whitehall is desperate, she truly could be taking insane risks because she has run out of logical paths inside the Imperium... or simply feels she is running out of time. Can I risk Banca's soul on chance and hope, instead of on steady research? What happens if we succeed here, but don't find what we need? What would Whitehall do next? Pan's hands were trembling as the true impact of the situation came to him. Whitehalls judgement was clouded by her need to free her Interrogator, clouded by the guilt she felt over Banca's damnation. They needed to stop, take time to examine the situation and the facts. Proceeding in blindly was foolhardy at best. With a decision made, Pan's steps pick up momentarily, moving himself ahead of Xanaroch and up alongside Yeseul and Tess long enough to whisper a comment to the two ladies. "Whitehall isn't thinking logically, I think she's desperate to find a solution now, and pinning her hopes on an unsubstantiated rumor. None of this situation makes sense. I'm worried she will push ahead no matter what we find. We need to stop and reassess her information before we walk into something we aren't expecting, or worse, something that Whitehall knows about but isn't telling us."

Pancracius Boselmann "There are reasons, good reasons, why Inquisitors are not supposed to interfere with the works of other Inquisitors. Sometimes they must break the rules in order to protect the Imperium, and to interfere without full knowledge could cause greater catastrophe than letting the Inquisitor proceed. She has chosen to break rules in order to save Banca, but I fear she is breaking the wrong rules." Pancracius slumps down against one of the pews and begins to stare towards the ruined icons of faith, an odd feeling of familiarity and similarity encompassing him for a long lonely moment. Trembling fingers begin to silently tap against the pew, rapping out the beat of an unheard song of prayer as his trembling voice whispers out to the others. "There are places we could go, places we could find knowledge... beyond the edges of the Imperium. Repositories of knowledge, colonies of sorcerers and daemon-binders. Until now, Whitehall has held tight to her oaths, both to us, the Inquisition, and the Emperor himself. Maybe, to save Whitehall and Banca both, it is time we had her release us from our oaths to her, so we could take the search where she cannot?" chin up everything sucks fucked around with this message at 20:07 on Dec 24, 2016 |
