Wasn't this conversation literally reversed in the show, where the psychopathic genius ran an entire world economy taking an unspecified share of the product of people's labors and Morty moralized at him about it? Whether it was intended to represent taxation (it wasn't) or the unfairness of capital (obvious intention) Rick wouldn't have given two shits if it was theft.

Seems like they'd just get blown the gently caress up from 20 miles away by any number of guided missile systems Tanks are for the "take and hold territory" part that comes after establishing air superiority. Filthy Hans posted:Our military actions will most likely never be against nuclear powers, at least not for a while. Tanks can be useful against our typical enemies: outmatched middle-easterners in urban environments. They're not likely to get their hands on guided missile systems that can hit a tank from long range, and make it past the active defenses and armor of an M1. IEDs and mines are a bigger threat. As others have said, air superiority ensures that no one the Army fights will have tanks to face off with. Can I post something I read once and don't know much about? Apparently the neutron bomb was developed because nuclear tests revealed that tank divisions were relatively able to continue making war after nuclear strikes on their lines (compared to traditional bombing attacking individual vehicles), and the us government put a fortune into developing wmds that could affect their crews. Neutron bombs were the result and they also basically don't work well either. Compared to tanks, aircraft and navies are super vulnerable to nukes.
