Al Cowens posted:Let a computer optimization algorithm partition the United States in the most optimal way given a weighted objective function that I tweak and then we will all live in State 0xA2, Sector 0x4F. There's actually been serveral proposals to re-do the states. None of them got farther than "a dude had an idea" tho

I just figured out how we could make Britain part of the US, and let them keep the queen as their leader while still staying within the constitution's ban on monarchy. Just make her a high school football coach.

LGD posted:No, you just absorb most of Britain as a state and create a set of treaties with The Crown that leave it a totally dependent but self-governing quasi-state with complete freedom of movement that consists only of it's properties like Windsor/Buckingham Palace/etc. That way you can still have kings, queens and all of the associated royalty for tourism purposes, but it has no bearing on the actual apparatus of government. Think of it like the Vatican. Or maybe an Indian reservation for royalty. This is a great idea, especially if at one point we take their kids away to raise them with normal families

Mein Eyes! posted:The UK is a deforested wasteland of grain and rape that can't keep the pubs open past 11PM. God, can you imagine a British person trying to understand the concept of a National Park? "so it's a bit of bog that the Queen doesn't own, but nobody's allowed to build flats or graze sheep on it? What's the point?"
