If it were somehow possible, I would live in the 90s forever.

My problem with the 80s is that people who grew up during that time are middle aged now so media is geared toward them, as though "being a kid" is synonymous with that decade.

Hip hop only got good in the 90s. There are a few exceptions but most rap before that decade is pretty terrible.

I didn't say rappers back then weren't influential or essential to the development of the art form, but as anything other foundation, to listen to in this day and age, it's just kind of silly.

Lencho posted:Your favorite band is Hollywood Undead. Well, they used to be. I hated their last album for the most part. Now I'd be more likely to say my favorite band is Blue Oyster Cult, the Black Keys, Mindless Self Indulgence, or Tub Ring. As far as metal goes I like doom metal a lot, like Electric Wizard or Uncle Acid, though I grew up liking more power stuff like Dragonforce and Hammerfall. Nile is some good poo poo too, and I think their death? I have a hard time distinguishing between death and black metal. JoshTheStampede posted:Genres change and that's good but it's not like you have to like every iteration of every genre. I like old-rear end country music but can't stand New Country, for example. God, yes. I can think of a few songs labeled country that I like but even they don't feel country at all. Johnny Cash is where's loving at man.

So, according to my profile, later this month'll be like, my anniversary for getting an account here. It's kind of stupid but for the last few years SA has been a real net positive in my life, despite the bumps. Which, while maybe not always my fault, I can definitely say mistakes were made on my part, there's always room to improve A friend of mine bought me the account in 2013 and since it, and especially BSS, have been kind of a go to place for me, every day. I like a lot of the people here too. The simple pleasure of interacting with people here, mixing thoughts and opinions, and just reading all the threads full of information about topics I care about is really nice. So like, I just appreciate it and stuff. Good use of my time.

People who constantly point out how logical they are always end up being the most emotional fuckwits.

I'm not a fascist either way. The movie more accurately bends to my beliefs, more so than the fetishistic militarism of the book anyway, I just don't find it funny and don't care for political tracts of any kind.

The "satire" is isolated chunks that, to me, aren't particularly well done, and the rest never rises above Hollywood cliche. Now see, I like Robocop, it's a good action movie and funny satire.

I'm never going to be comfortable with it, but I doubt it'll ever change. Something about movies seems to make it inevitable. It helps that movies are episodic before reboots so they don't have to come up with the excuse to keep villains around. There's also something about the action movie DNA-I think there was an article on ComicsAlliance that talked about it. Roth posted:I wish I had more of a backbone on Tumblr.
