What a rollercoaster June was! Between the UK literally tearing the EU apart, talking about gun control again, and literal Nazis, it’s hard to believe that Hillary Clinton hadn’t even secured a majority of DNC delegates at the beginning of the month. And we haven’t even hit the party conventions yet! Just remember: as the world falls apart, you can always take solace in USPOL July 2016! 114th Congress Bingo Card Well, you will be unsurprised to learn that the 114th hasn’t been up to much, and it won’t be up to much for the next two months either, thanks to the national party conventions and the mandatory August recess. Just keep in mind that we have n working days until the next government shutdown, and it’ll make it all better.
Other News Featuring the Clinton Corner Well, I guess I can’t put the Clinton Corner away that easily, because a Secret Service agent totally called Clinton a horrible person despite not having access to Clinton when she lived in the White House. But why should that matter when there are lives at stake! Needless to say, this obviously means you shouldn’t vote for Hillary. Anyway, on with the other news…

I desperately want to continue foodchat, but I must give props to that OP. I think the conventions will end up being fairly boring, Bernie will end up talking for awhile but honestly, seems like business as usual on both sides. Anyone have thoughts otherwise?

Looking forward to Trump picking Christie as VP and Ted getting himself put in as Trump's VP at the convention, resulting in the first Presidential Triumvirate.

Breaking it down a step further, a lot of people who would never dream of slapping some cold oil and raw egg on their sandwich sure do like mayo. Those people are dumb

Anyone got a link to a decent article about the Clinton Foundation? A friend of mine posted this link: http://www.infowars.com/state-department-wont-release-clinton-foundation-emails-for-27-months/ And while he understands that Alex Jones is a complete poo poo he's trying to hear out "both sides" and I'd like to refute it.

Also mayo is awful because it's supplanting butter as the way to add more fat to other sauces/spreads. If your hummus recipe calls for mayo, throw everything out and start over.

I would like to say that in the last thread, I made a very offensive comment towards trans people, and I would like to apologize to anyone I offended. Trans people are America's most shat on minority and you don't need me adding fuel to that fire of bigotry. One of the most important friends in my life was a trans woman who taught me how to communicate in relationships, to let down my guard, and counseled me through a very complicated relationship through which I learned invaluable lessons, and I owe her a great debt of gratitude. Trans people are our neighbors, they are our coworkers, our friends, our classmates, and they deserve every bit of respect that any other human alive does. Furthermore I would like to thank the people who called me out of my offensive statement. It was, indeed, a lovely thing to say, and I am not above admitting when I am wrong. Nowadays I am thinking Google's all at once approach isn't how it's gonna work and same as cruise control or whatever it's just slowly going to inch in, bringing some amount of new death and chaos along the way. Eventually though using all these automation features is gonna have to be part of the driving test and people will wonder why they need more training to operate stuff meant to make driving easier. edit: in my magic unicorn world having a driver's license is more like having a boating or pilot's license (which includes training in how to use all its navigation and automation equipment) and only people who really enjoy it or need it for work or something have one, and everyone else has a viable transportation alternative for normal stuff. I rarely use it for anything else, and I've never seen it in any of my cookbooks as a butter substitute. That just sounds awful.
