anyway i tried to make a mario party 3 board a few days ago with end of evangelion as the background but i couldn't overwrite one of the in-game boards so it's dead forever here's what it would have looked like

the large scene background is supposed to display in loading screens so had the board worked, every loading screen would have been reina telling kumiko she's going to kill her

the black part is way more depressing because total control of all 3 wings means the republican party can continue its policy of voter disenfranchisement and gerrymandering as a means of hobbling the opposition party in areas where they also control the state legislature, which is about as heinous but can be harder to get people fired up against.

Hope springs eternal though for me because I see this as a single step backwards, not a tremendous fall for the nation. All progress is going to have to be hard fought again and hopefully this loss and the arrogant braying of prideful bigots as they overplay their hand will remind people why it is worth fighting for.

Hi chat thread. I haven't read this thread in a while, been spending my SA time keeping up with CSPAM mostly. Last night was a terrible experience for me, I slept really badly and felt a huge amount of anxiety. But after waking up this morning, feeling terrible, and going to class and taking an exam anyway, I feel quite a bit better. It's not the end of the world. Things will change eventually. I am going to continue to believe in Humans and in Americans, that we will one day progress past this endless cycle. The saddest part to me isn't even the minorities who are sure to be oppressed and abused by the GOP. It's the white, impoverished, uninformed Trump voters who were feeling so desperate to have their voices heard that they voted for Trump, who promised to help them. And yet, they will surely be betrayed by the GOP once again when the GOP once again turns to cutting welfare and medi-care/-caid for the poor and needy, and just about everything else really (except the military of course!). Those ignorant people, racist, sexist, or not, whatever they might be, deserve to live good lives. And the only thing sadder than Trump ruining the lives of minorities, who see it coming, is Trump ruining the lives of the people who believed in and entrusted their hopes and dreams to him. I definitely do think it will get way worse for minorities than it will for impoverished rural whites, but maybe it's the shounen fan in me that feels so affected by the betrayal of one hailed as such a savior. We look to be in for some dark times, but I have hope. Maybe it's silly, but I guess the same shounen fan in me will continue believing, continue fighting, and continue dreaming of a day where all people, no matter what they look or act like, can be respected and live good lives. I hope we, as a subforum and as a forum in general, can come together and support those who are going to suffer in the limited ways we have available. As a white, cis, straight man from a well-off family, I feel truly sad that not all will be able to survive as comfortable as I will probably be able to, or survive at all. If encouragement is all I can give, I will give it gladly, and I will hope it provides at least a little support for all those in need. Sorry for the impromptu essay, but I just wanted to put my thoughts to paper and I really enjoy this subforum and the community it has fostered and hope to see it continue on in a positive way. If I believed in a god, I would probably be praying right now, if I even still believed after last night. I have hope. I hope most of you do, too.
