Still, I doubt that's what's inside simply because that's way too much processing power for what it needs. Plus you'd need a USB charger that could put out 2.6 amps to deliver that much power. It's probably some oem board from china with an arm proc on it and some Nintendo developed emulator to run the games. I wonder if anyone has tried to figure out the dimensions based on the size of the port yet. We've also only seen one side of it. I hope someone does a tear down on it the first day it's out. I just wish I could preorder it already. A simple package with 30 pretty top tier NES games that I can take with me? Yes please.

I'd bet on the guts of an o3DS with a stripped down 3DS OS to run the emulators.

Castlevania 3 is a Mapper 5 game, which is trickier to emulate; they got it working on the Wii VC but it seems they opted for a simpler solution here. Also Konami being essentially dead probably has weird repercussions.

The best version of Castlevania III is VRC6 though :colbert:

I really want to buy a couple of those controllers and swap the PCB with my real NES controllers, since the real ones are all yellowed and the plastic screw holes on one of them have broken off.

Also to clarify: Final Fantasy III is actually Final Fantasy VI because Square renumbered the North American SNES releases for endless confusion later when they tried to walk it back.
