Great games yesterday, I think server hiccups have been fixed for me, though from the server map people posted a few pages ago, I live on the east coast so I'm near NY's location. Now what I'm wondering is does; the MACTAV (ump) have no aim assist? It feels strangely hard to keep my aim on a target. I got no problem real close but even at mid range I start being innacurate as gently caress.

That's probably because the range of aim assist on SMGs is smaller than the ARs, which is smaller than the LMGs. My basic strategy with any non RPR smg is: don't ever be in front of them. Doesn't necessarily mean flank all the time or rely on your thrusters, it just means outmaneuver them. In earlier cods I couldn't do this reliably without stock but these days with perception, phase shift and the sound on enough to hear boosters and footsteps it's only the people ADSing on long range parts of maps that should be catching you off guard. Or someone running dead silence, cold blooded and hard wired but hell if they are doing that they deserve it for being Metal Gear Solid as gently caress. On a side note I run with the legendary karma/rpr: Ext mags, grip, silencer Phase shift and perception/fuzzy ghost and heightened senses Ghost, scavenger, dead silence and hard wired. Only thing I change on the OSA/NV4/K-bar classes are the attachments.

Most of the SMGs kill faster than any of the ARs, so as long as you do get into close range and don't miss your shot, you'll win the gunfights consistently. Notably the HVR is one of the best subs imo, the 3sk up close is extremely loving fast, and lets you win those 'oops' ran into a guy face to face fights. The FHR is next in line, but that gun has severe damage falloff and recoil, the HVR is a lot more manageable at a distance. The ERAD and Karma are middle of the road, the ERAD has the best damage range of the higher rpm subs, and I think a bit better recoil profile, but I like it and the Karma both, plus the ERAD can't use extmags. The MacTav has the worst ttk of all the subs in exchange for super long 4sk range, and putting a suppressor on it does basically nothing since the range it drops to 5sk is well past where you'd have autoaim anyway. The RPR is a special snowflake, if you can handle its recoil and intelligently switch modes, its one of the best all around guns in the game, barely behind the HVR/FHR up close, and in the top few guns period in AR mode at midrange. Not the easiest weapon to use though, and getting caught in the wrong mode is usually death.

So Modern Warfare Remastered is getting new guns. This looks like BO3 Haymaker. Some dudes on Reddit are saying the gun just got new texture files in a recent update. They're definitely working on this gun. I guess I have to prepare my wallet for microtransactions now. To be fair, I hopped on BO3 for some matches/Man-O-War Gold grinding. Got my 2nd Bloodthirsty with it on Hardcore TDM. Three more and I can finally use another gun. Like the ICR.
