I like this show because it is a vaguely sapphic work-comedy with pretty art. I'd bet the author knows that he's making a vaguely sapphic work-com with pretty art, but if he doesn't that's okay too.

This.
Going into this show I was at most hoping for the level of "biting social satire"of Shirobako, it didn't hit that but it's still pretty cute and funny so I'm happy.

e: I had read the other manga from the same author, and "vaguely sapphic vaguely medieval comedy with pretty art" describes that pretty well.

I've seen the phrase come up a few times, so I think that's just how they choose to refer to office work, even if they're making lighthearted stuff.

Now that I think about it, are we sure that wasn't just an odd translation of "Salaryman/woman?"

Maybe. That'd be a poor translation if so since Wage Slave is more about the working environment than the amount of pay as it would apply to both Freeters and Salarypeople

Yea if you didn't know by episode one this wasn't a cutting commentary on real Japanese worker rights issues I dunno what to say. I'm here for cute dorks being kinda gay making video games. I don't know if the writer intends it to be deeper but if he does good on him. If not, cute dorks are still fun.

They do work absolutely insane hours in this series. But at least they get paid for it.

But seriously how weak is Aoba if she can't handle lifting a sword for more than a few seconds? Unless it's a metal replica of a thick game sword (i.e a paddle) there's no way it'll even weigh 2kg. The freaking office cat is several times heavier. :arghfist::spergin:

New episode was good, though the title wasn't very relevant. Nice to see more of Hajime, she's cool. Rin and Kou continue to be written like a married couple and that's cute AF.

The last episode is Aoba putting a picture of herself on the internet with a shirt that says "Girls don't need a prince" and getting fired the next day.

Nah, in ep 11 she'll get stress from being overworked, be unable to meet deadlines, and get fired. Episode 12 shows her falling deeper into NEET life and trying to become a Nico gamergirl superstar, but her identity is compromised and gamergate dudes break into her home and murder her, on camera.

The timeline that God abandoned.

For real though, don't drag Gamer Gate in our thread for the incredibly chill anime about making video games.
