I caught the first 2 episodes at the Alamo Drafthouse last week, and let me tell you mother fuckers...poo poo goes bonkers next episode. If you're kinda on the fence, give it another episode. Trust. Also best scene in this episode was Russell and Gamby trying to get each other to flinch. They didn't, but the rest of the staff did. Great joke.

Maybe it's because I've seen a lot of Jody Hill's stuff, but I pretty much pegged Brown as the hero from the get go. I'm kinda surprised it took people this long to even feel anything for her, and not consider Gamby and Russell straight up villains. They were pieces of poo poo from the very first scene.

I'm wondering what the debate is. Gamby and Russell are bad people. The whole fun of Hill's work is watching bad people do increasingly bad and cringy poo poo but while somehow still maintaining enough humanity that you feel sorry for them in the end. Observe and Report is an underrated gem and it's loving hilarious just as it is depressing and sad. Jody Hill is a master at this poo poo in way most people aren't. It's not an easy feat, but he pulls it off. Also, Footfist Way. Everyone should watch that. This feels closer to that than Eastbound actually with it's more grounded narcissism.

Finally caught up. Godddddddaaaaammmn. The drunk scene is the most uncomfortable thing I've seen in a long long time. It was amazing. And the ending? Fuckkk. This show owns. I stand by what I said earlier. It's WAY more ambitious than Eastbound and Down. And that's a good thing. A buddy and I are going as Gamby and Russell for Halloween. Should be fun as gently caress.

I stopped after the first episode. All the life and fun was sucked out and it became an average boring cop show. The only thing that stands out is the naked girl in the bowl of liquid at the murdered person's house.
