Stoaga of the White Legs

Used Safe Passage, giving at least myself and anyone with me, if not the group, +2 Speed and the ability to ignore Difficult Terrain for the encounter.

Stoaga, ever the capable sneak, found herself in the situation of having to go through open spaces in open daylight past several people. As such, the usual method of moving slowly was out the window. As such, she went for the next best thing as she consumed her portion of the "dash juice" she had given out to the group; moving through the peripherals of the sentries' vision cones so fast that, even assuming they notice it, they are less likely to perceive it, and, hopefully, only catch a very brief glimpse of a blur on the edge of their vision that vanishes by the time they turn to face it.

The two sentries occupying the control tower, distracted by her teammates, don't even get a chance to react as they each receive, in quick succession, a rubber bullet to the back of the skull and a pull inside the tower itself.

Once Stoaga has the tower all to herself and her partner, however, she realizes a problem; she's techno-illiterate outside of weapons, and gets a bit dizzy just trying to take in all the blinking lights, displays, and the multitude of buttons, any one of which could be the one they need. She begins pushing buttons, first out of curiosity, then out of frustration as none of their functions become obvious despite her pressing them.

Stoaga's green coat and hood are stained white with her blood as she reaches for the little black stick item. She's confused as to what it is or what its purpose was, but it seems she accomplished something. Noting the fact that she's still bleeding, she dashes out of the tower and into wherever she can find some cover, presumably the hangar, leaving a trail of white splotches behind her until she finds a spot to hunker down. Soon after, she retrieves a small pack of what a doctor would call a home-made antimicrobial gel bandage and applies it to the bleeding areas, halting the flow.

Moving with my 9 speed into the hangar, or anywhere I can find some form of cover (if not, the hangar anyway since it'd hopefully block line of effect for Sniper 1 and possibly Sniper 3 what with the control tower in the way) and using my standard action to Second Wind. I regain 8 HP and my defenses go up by +2. That last volley hurt.

Stoaga waves at Naivara, having lowered her mask and applying spare strips of cloth to her damaged bits, still stained white with her blood. Her other hand holds a USB drive, which she attempts to hand over. "Got this from tower. Unsure what is. Can you use?" Considering her dress, manner of speech, weaponry, and confused expression as she continues looking around the ship, it's safe to say Stoaga is little help in piloting this ship, and it's a wonder that she managed to retrieve this data at all.

Any normal person would have found something to hang on to. Stoaga, however, just had a curious expression on her face before being blasted into the back of the cockpit, and promptly thrown about like a ragdoll when the forces involved in the ship's movement bear down on her. While at best it's just some minor bruising, the fact that she was the only one to get tossed around like this probably isn't doing her mood or standing any favors, based on the expression on her face as she pulls herself back up onto her feet.

"...White Legs have ridden animals less ferocious than that. Very wild. Very painful."

For Stoaga, this would be her second time exiting a planet's atmosphere and moving by spaceship into the vast reaches of space. Given her tribe's rather...dated technology, almost everything within the ship is foreign to her, and she tries to keep her pale hands off of anything, lest it fling her about like the ship did. This ultimately leads to her just...standing in the same spot she got up from, trying to acclimate to this strange new environment.

Stoaga finds a Vular officer's blade, coated in a layer of the Drow signature poison, while attempting to regain her bearings. It doesn't take long for her to attach it to her current rifle as a lengthy bayonet, seemingly unfazed by the prospect of risking touching poison while fiddling with the object. She overhears the conversation about a trip to a place called Aelis. "Aelis...? I do not know such a place. White Legs seldom travel off-planet. What does one...do, at Aelis?"

The woodlander's mask goes back on as they step out of the ship. While everyone else went off to shop for a ship, it would seem that her hunter's sense of direction proved to be of little use in a concrete jungle, especially when she lacked a map. Disoriented by her new surroundings, her normally perfect perception failed to pick up on her allies attempting to purchase a new ship. Unwilling to simply stay put in the ship which was just as foreign to her, Stoaga began to wander, trying to find something she's more comfortable with.

Unused to this form of praise, or even much praise at all during, as opposed to after a mission, Stoaga's expression is a bit conflicted and embarrassed, thinking on this until Meri chimes in again. This snaps her back into scout mode as she nods and keeps her eyes open for anything she can find and maintaining a quiet pace. This darkness isn't too unusual for her, considering night-time hunts, but usually she isn't indoors in the dark. Still, it's nothing to get unnerved by. After Saurians, nothing should spook her.

Stoaga, as the teleporting begins, rotates the barrel of her rifle to allow the bayonet to spring forth. As she finds herself within point blank range, she lunges forth and stabs the creature with the bayonet, forcibly rotates the barrel again after hitting a release to push the blade back in, and fires into the hole her previous stab wound created. A FWIP erupts from her barrel as it delivers a high-caliber round into a soft, pre-opened target, tearing it open. She proceeds to, perhaps out of instinct, take a smaller knife from her pack and carve into it afterwards to retrieve a sample of the creature before moving onwards.

Stoaga of the White Legs

No longer bleeding white or feeling a very wrong substance within their bloodstream, the sharpshooter sighs and slumps against a wall, relieved that the job is over. Taking a few moments to refill her magazines, she seems almost happy for a few moments. Then the armed attack squad comes in and demands that they stand down. While not surprised by this turn of events, Stoaga is, however, annoyed by it, and lets her distaste be known with a hiss as she starts to disassemble her rifle into its base components. Halfway through removing the barrel from the frame, however, the order is rescinded, and she remains rather unhappy about it now that she has to screw the barrel back again.

"Mission more 'complete' than 'accomplished.'" chimes Stoaga.

Stoaga of the White Legs

Stoaga gives Kvardek a look directly at him as the machine continues to observe her. Indeed her complexion had changed ever so slightly, and her red eyes gaining a slight glimmer to them ever since the pathogen was purged from her system. Eventually, however, her gaze changes, without blinking, towards the more organic individuals, with the same kind of expression on her face one would attribute to a cat stalking a bird. Something more primal than usual. During the briefing, she remains her usual quiet and distant self, eyes darting back and forth between all in attendance, although she seems to get ever so slightly closer every so often while unobserved. Once the captain isolates herself, however, Stoaga is quick to follow them. There's a bit of a stumble to her step, though she ensures her footstep sounds match her prey as they are now more isolated. She reaches forward...then hesitates and looks behind her, and notices that she's still very much visible. Her hand pulls back.

"...Will be taking on this mission. However...Require a room. Must...prepare."

Shuffling backwards, she distances herself from the captain and the others and proceeds to place herself in the least-occupied corner possible, and attempts to look 'normal' by wiping the lenses on her scopes.

Stoaga of the White Legs

The sun-averse sniper hisses at the commander with a feral glow in her eyes before looking back over at the others. "Spirits of White Legs tell me this one knows of Zinjang. Zinjang, Black Death, hunter of hunters, important target to White Legs. This one will be taken alive. The rest, you can kill or devour." Without explaining herself further, she takes full advantage of the tactical overlay that Kvardek provides, committing it to memory as she practically teleports to the railing of the catwalk to take up her sniping position. She takes a breath in, loads a live round, and takes a moment to utter some kind of tribal rite. A small tribal charm by her hip resonates with her as she takes aim and fires at the guard directly cross from her, hitting them dead-on with a bullet laced with some kind of numbing agent.

Moved to K13, fired at Honor Guard in C13.

Stoaga of the White Legs

"This one was...not seeing that coming." The catwalk's ladder was part of the sniper's blind spot, and the enemy took advantage of that perfectly, nearly knocking her off and putting her in a most precarious position. At first, she was concerned about her predicament, her rifle still lacking the proper means to deal with something at point blank. However, with her allies very much taking care of her, she saw fit to stand up and return the favor. Loading up a variant of her wire rounds, she took aim at the still-standing Drow currently menacing Meriele and fires, hissing again.

Move action to stand up from prone, Minor to enter Aspect of the Dancing Cobra.

Saving throw vs falling: 1d20 2
Damage + Falling Damage!: 1d10m3+11+1d10 20 +1 for Stance for 21.
I chose to slide the guard to G12, and he failed his save vs falling, and is Prone due to taking falling damage.

The round narrowly whizzes past the idol and into the torso of its target. A line of wire now connects the drow and Stoaga's rifle together. Next, she fires at the ornamental display on the ground floor. A second bullet, now carrying the other end of the line, lodges itself into the target, and with a click, begins rapidly reeling in its other end, pulling the guardsman off the catwalk. The impact of the fall, thankfully for them, is enough to dislodge the foreign object embedded in them as it continues reeling itself towards the other end. She then slinks away from the edge of the catwalk, towards the center of it.

End of turn. As per my Stance, I shift to L15.

Stoaga of the White Legs

Stoaga's eyes narrow at the commander and their incessant playful attitude. Wasteful and outright shameful, playing with one's prey during a hunt like that. People like these command people like Zinjang? Absurd. Putting her mask back on, a pale wind begins to blow around her, even here, within the confines of a vessel floating through space. She takes a mighty leap, aided by the winds, and travels directly to the other end of the longer catwalk, taking a potshot at the commander with a rubber round, deliberately plinking off of her to gain the Drider's attention.

Wind Fury Assault! (C9): 1d20+16 19

I fly to G10.

"This one tires of your 'games.'"

Stoaga risks casting a spell! (Using an Action Point)

She fires another shot, one that visibly bends with the guidance of the wind to impact the still-elven portion of the commander, tearing them away from Naivara, with all the sharpness that would entail for the latter, as unfortunate as that is. Upon a closer look, it is less a bullet and more a projectile made from wind itself!

Clever Shot! (C9): 1d20+16 33
Damage!: 1d10m3+12 17

Naivara is freed from the grab as Valoryn is slid to C10.

However, more than just a bullet being guided by winds, in front of Valoryn, a white squall forms, buffeting her with a combination of high-speed winds providing a deafening effect and precipitation to obscure the vision. Meanwhile, Naivara, also within the storm, can see her target through pockets of calm air. The replicant would scarcely be able to hear herself, but given the expression the opposition is likely giving, it's clear that she's effectively invisible at the moment to her prey.

Minor Action to use Stalker's Mist on C9. As a Move Action I can move the zone up to 5 squares.

Well-aware of her much more precarious position, Stoaga steels herself for the oncoming rush of attackers. The winds form a cyclone around her and, to a lesser extent, Meriele, as they hinder the footsteps of enemies and their projectiles alike.

Subbing my Move for a Minor to cast Protective Gale. UEOMNT, Stoaga has an Aura 2 that creates Difficult Terrain for enemies and gives every ally within it +2 to AC and Reflex vs ranged attacks.

Stoaga of the White Legs

As the battle continues, there's a certain hunger that has yet to be sated ever since her blood had the toxins purged from her system. With her near-perfect vision, she scours the battlefield for that which she desires. She finds one just within a safe distance, up above.

Minor action to switch to Seeking Falcon stance, to increase move speed to 9.

Ignoring the soldiers below and practically pouncing up the ladder, Stoaga pulls her mask down, bends down towards the fallen Fateweaver, and bites hard into it's neck, tearing out a chunk of the exposed flesh before rapidly nibbling and slurping up whatever was inside. Shortly after, like someone would discard a meatless bone, she tosses the Drow aside and stands back up, seemingly refreshed from the act.

Move action to invoke Invigorating Stride, moving 9 squares to C13. I use my Second Wind to gain +2 to all defenses and recover 13 HP.

Now remembering that there's a battle going on, the sniper snaps to face the flanked Honor Guard and drag it into an explosion that Ziv seems to be setting up. Her shot, as is usual, rings true and drags the target into something worse than a nasty fall.

Clever Shot! (D7): 1d20+16 28

Stoaga of the White Legs

The sniper has a wry smile as the commander continues to flee. Her gaze seems to follow their movements everywhere they go. As a soldier arrives to interfere with the movement, Stoaga simply slinks out of their reach to continue gazing at them. In a rather singsong tone, she exclaims "this one sees you~!"

Perception to find Valoryn!: 1d20+20 38

Reactive Shift takes me to E10. Perception check as a minor action reveals her location pretty much perfectly as being in K8.

As she levels her rifle and loads a brightly-colored rubber round into the chamber, she continues. "And this one will capture you! Death will not do. Not at all."

Disruptive Shot!: 1d20+8 13
Damage!: 1d10m3+11 14
7 damage and she is Slowed until end of my next turn.

The pink bullet bounces off of an otherwise invisible object, doing little harm, but making it rather obvious where she was aiming. The fear of being tagged in such a way, however, gives one pause in their movements.

Clever Shot! (Valoryn): 1d20+18 32 1d10m3+14 17

Seeing and smelling the blood (or robot fluid) of two of her allies, Stoaga snarls as she taps another button on her rifle and gives it a bit of a flourish before snapping directly towards her target. A small dot, no larger than one's fingertip, appears directly between Valoryn's eyes. Regardless of how she moves, she can't get the dot off of her head. There's the hum of a simple yet soft tune as the sniper fires off one more non-lethal round.

Switching to Dancing Serpent stance.
Aimed Shot! (Valoryn): 1d20+16 36 1d10m3+13 18
CRITICAL so that's 23 damage + 2d8 but that doesn't even remotely matter at this point.

Stoaga of the White Legs

The pale one practically leaps onto the unconscious and battered commander, giving a hiss like a predatory animal in order to deter further attempts at brutalizing it. "Did this one not say? This one lives. White Legs demands it. Would not get another chance to find slaughterer of tribe for some time." Using one of her bola-like rounds, she ensured the remainder of the Drow's limbs were securely fastened before having a brief moment of self-awareness. "...Stoaga should explain for earlier. White Legs eat vitae, lifeblood. White Legs have white blood, burn in sunlight, but live long, need little rest. When plant was removed from system, flushed out all vitae as well. Ample vitae to be found now though." She gestures towards the myriad fresh Drow corpses. "After light meal, this one would like to watch the important one. Must ask it important question. Until then, do not kill or eat important one. Please?"

"This one would greatly prefer that, yes." Keeping a fast pace and her eyes peeled, Stoaga simultaneously maintains viewing of Valoryn while also scanning the hallways for signs of the same kind of device that sent her from the other ship onto this one. It is her ears, rather than her eyes, however, which pick up on the familiar hum of an idle teleporter system. Picking up the pace, she waves over at those going with her to follow as she follows her ears to the source of the humming. Opening the door, sure enough, there is a teleporter apparatus. "...This one does not know how to use the device. Please, send us to ship."

The patting elicits some additional red on the white landscape of Stoaga's face. "Stoaga...Err, I would like that." She stumbles a bit as she holsters her rifle and steps into the teleporter, trying to avoid the tingling sensation that instant matter transportation gives. Once aboard the Independence, however, her blush vanishes and her usual blank-as-a-stone expression returns.

"This one is fine, meal was sufficient." Her choice of seat is, rather than by the prisoner, directly on her lap, staring directly into her eyes as they drift in and out of consciousness. An unblinking stare, the hunter intent on studying their prey's every detail. "This one senses much fire still burning in this dark one's heart. This may be a long fight to remove its pride...Should Stoaga be taking the marks of pride from it?"

"This one has questions for those who have answers. You are one who has answers to that which this one seeks. Do you remember Mundo del Monstruo? Dinosaur planet, many jungles, beaches, 'topical?' Vular destroyed this one's tribe. White Legs." She tosses off her hooded jacket and bites into her wrist to have a small drip of white fluid flow out. With the hood off, it's a great deal more obvious that at the edges of where her mask would usually end, there remain burns from where sunlight would either reflect off the mask or slip through in cracks. She seems unbothered by them or her new injury, however, as she continues. "Pale like moon, bleed white. Cut down by Zinjang, Black Death, Vular 'executioner.' Stole White Legs' lives and livelihoods. White Legs almost all gone now. Just Stoaga and Jakkyou left."

She breaks the stare for a brief moment to have a moment of silence and sadness while thinking of those she lost, before going right back to her stare. "This one knows you do not fear death. But this one also knows every body has limits. White Legs very good at using every part of animal. If one does not answer this one's...my questions, I will break, cook, eat and repurpose every part of you I can without killing. Not threat, but statement of fact; this Drow is worthless if it doesn't have information. Will turn into useful items instead. So answer question of where is Zinjang, or be repurposed. This one cares not which happens."

Stoaga's stare remains unchanged. No anger, no sadness, merely the continued stare directly into her prey's own eyes. "This one would be angry, if what you said were true. White Legs have never spoken to Vular. In fact, first time White Legs met Vular was when Vular attacked merchant group. White Legs' second meeting was Zinjang destroying all White Legs except Stoaga and Jakkyou. Is this Drow...perhaps forgetting things? This one can fix that." She begins to lean in towards the drow's neck...

When picked up and carried off by Ziv, the sniper gets a look of realization, as if some gears began moving in her head and finally clicked together. She stands up as tall as she can and whispers (in a much quieter volume than Kacht-ka) to Ziv. "...This one wonders if they can pacify the Drow. Could pacify animals by finding the correct spot. Perhaps also applies to Drow?"

"Red Hands did this?" Stoaga looks down, deep in thought, then looks back at her likely confused comrades. "...This one should explain. Red Hands share ancestor with White Legs. Split apart long long ago. Both tribes...'inflected' by different things. White Legs drank of glowing water, became pale, burn in sunlight, but very fast, need few meals, can survive and heal off vitae. Red Hands used large rock from space to make weapons. Rock made Red Hands like beasts, grow claws and large fangs, sharp senses, agile like wolf. Rock and water both gone now, but Red Hands and White Legs still like this. When this one felt plant thing in blood, was worried. This one is last female of White Legs, if 'containmenainted,' tribe would not survive. Still..." She puts her cloak back on. "White Legs and Red Hands fight over quarry all the time, yes, but war? This one did not know it was war..."

Looking back at Valoryn, she smiles. "Zinjang is this Zinula, then? On 'Mraxis'? This one has much to be thankful for now. Zinjang still lives. Red Hands mean nothing to this one now. If Red Hands want Mundo Del Monstruo, Red Hands can have. But not until this one has what they need for Zinula. Tell me...Can Vular weapons cut through hide of, what is proper term... Dire Tyrant Drake? This one recalls Vular fleeing at sound of its roar on day of first attack. White Legs only two in number now, but even with only two, can capture one. Vular base will be new stomping grounds for Dire Tyrant Drake, this drow has this one's word."

The albino, having put her mask back on, crumples into their seat at the sensation, like a puppet with its strings cut. There's a distinctly relaxed and neutral expression to their eyes, but with the mask on, the remainder of her face, and true nature of the reaction, are left shrouded in mystery. They swat Ziv's hand away a few moments later without a word.
