He's a pretty grating character at times (like any of them, I guess), but the whole sequence of Eddie being drawn and then detoxing while Roland nearly dies is some of King's best writing ever.

Eddie isn't in this film but the director has said he's showing up in the sequel (if they get one.)

None of the characters have to show up at their usual point sin the story because this is considered a brand new loop that we haven't seen before.

Thinking about the inevitable sequel, I think Susannah needs to be black and Eddie definitely needs to be a white cokehead NY from the eighties. It's very important to realize that Steven King was in the series from book 2, his name was just Eddie.
