I like this host segment in conjunction with his review of Sphere in Mike Nelson's Movie Megacheese, which is mostly about high-end early adopters of DVDs and how over the top their "home theater" systems often were (the review frames it in the context of what you need to do to get the most out of Sphere on DVD, including re-building your home's foundation with a built-in 10,000 watt subwoofer among other things). Mike clearly knew people who were way too obsessed with their home media setups.

All shall love me and despair!

I think my favorite host segment is still the Mighty Jack dog food commercial shoot, Crow working with the little puppet is almost as lovely as whenever he catches on fire.
Second favorite (and really only because it's an ending sequence) is gonna be the Jet Jaguar fight song. Perfection

Godzilla vs Megalon really is an all-time great.

Edit: oh your YouTube link is the popcorn sketch. I assumed it was gonna be Rex Dart: Eskimo Spy.

There's a host segment where - I think - Tom abruptly runs Crow down in a car and it made me laugh so hard I almost hurt myself.

I also like the bits where Joel tries to teach the Bots a life lesson or have them help him with a skit based off of something in the movie, and fails miserably. Like the segment where Joel's playing Colossal Man and the Bots don't remotely take him seriously, or when they mess up his "broom closet malt shop" bit from The Giant Gila Monster.

That also has a favorite, where Crow flaunts he's a sexual being in front of Mike.

While it is dumb Sci-Fi forced MST to do 'story arcs' it did give us 'Mike Nelson, Destroyer of Worlds' which was great.

Another one I've always loved, just for sheer absurdity:

Aaron Spelling's house.

When asked if people would get the jokes they made, Joel replied that the right people would get them.

Two examples for me (having grown up listening to AM rock radio in the early 70s) were Joel made a reference to the song "Timothy" (a song about cannibalism). Joel first tried to say that Timothy was a duck - a reference to the record company trying to make people believe Timothy was a mule. Joel then said that some songwriters would come up with songs about current or popular trends, to which Tom asked when was cannibalism a popular trend.

Another was a host segment where Joel and the Bots tried to figure out how many people were in the band "Hamilton, Joe Frank, and Reynolds" since, without seeing the name in print, the average person would not be able to tell.

Another great one: the parody of Thayer's entrance in Operation Double 007.

"I know."

Some fans call those failed sketches, where someone wants to do a sketch but someone else refuses or deliberately messes it up. It's interesting that sometimes the host segments are supposed to show whatever they're doing when they aren't watching the movie, but sometimes they really are supposed to be putting on a performance for the audience. Multilayered....
