I think my first was Fire Maidens of Outer Space (Timmy!). But I think I really got hooked on my next episode Attack of the the Eye Creatures.

Hmm. I wonder when those aired? [Googles...]

So, what I am saying is I drat well want an MST3K, How did this get made crossover dammit.

It'd make sense since a lot of people do the show to promote their latest project.

I always wanted Kevin or Bill to do a HDTGM.

Does it have more John Saxon in it? Feels like this should have more John Saxon.

"Mitchell. Even his name says, 'Is that a beer?'"

It does and explains his death. It has a great scene where Saxon and some cronies try to run Mitchell down with dune buggies. It actually gets a little brutal.

I'm nearly finished with my complete re-watch of the show and after watching The Girl in Gold Boots, I have to ask which movie had the least likeable cast?

High School Big Shot is a front runner. Nobody is likeable, even the protagonist. At least in Gold Boots, Michelle & Critter semi-redeem themselves at the end (Michelle gets away from the sleazy guys and Critter turns them in and goes to the Army).

Red Zone Cuba? It's hard to like the trio you spend pretty much the entirety of the movie with. I suppose Cherokee Jack is likable.

I'll agree with Revenge of the Creature. It kind of resets the series so new people can get eased in to it. Plus it's a classic "rubber" monster movie that people expect with this sort of thing. That said I'm a little older than average so it's the kind of movie I think of when I think of MST3k. Someone younger might be happier with Space Mutiny which would be a good alternate choice.

Monster A Go-Go is probably my goto for a background noise episode, when I just need something playing. It also has some great lines, both riffing and in sketches. My favorite:

Narrator: :geno: "THERE IS ONE WORD IN NUCLEAR PHYSICS MORE FEARED THAN ANY OTHER,"

Joel: :v: "Oops!"

Yeah, there's something about the "aesthetic" of Monster a Go Go. That I like. It's a terrible movie but there is something in the sound and visuals that I enjoy. It's definitely a background movie.

Also, I like Circus on Ice, too.

That really was a quintessential MST3k moment. To be fair though, I'm assuming that that was just a place holder and everyone thought that a real phone ring would be dubbed over it. Either they didn't notice in editing or more likely just didn't care to fix it by that point.

I understand the disappointment, but threatening to withhold future things like that is kind of petty. The updates go out to ~50,000 people. There's no reason to pack up your ball and go home because of one or two careless backers. He came off really condescending and lovely.

Yeah, I'm not a backer (I'm broke) but I feel like if you put something out on the internet, it's going to get leaked and you can't complain too much about that. Especially at this point in the project. It's not like there really is any damage done. You can come out and tsk a bit but you can't really go beyond that.

I was going to mention this one but I got lazy. Its a pretty good "moral panic" film. Especially the murderer crazed by porn.

I have no worry about Jonah's ability to riff on MST3k. Plus some level of awkwardness is part of (early) MST3k's charm. He's not going into this without the direction of Joel and many others long associated with the franchise. He's the least part to worry about.
