mate something is wrong then tbf everything was 95% good until I decided to use more than one computer to send to it the mac can't do it AT ALL, even with the software. just end up plugging it in and same on this pc, sometimes I just need to print rather than gently caress around, and so of course I have the same printer twice in the devices, one wifi and one not we have two the brother is definitely the better of the two. the epson is total dogs balls

my brother worked fine over wireless until it didn't. resetting it is some arcane ritual of holding buttons and unplugging or whatever and i just said gently caress it and plug in when i need to print

printers in general are always pieces of poo poo that never work when you need them. the only exception to this is the epson dot matrix we had when i was a kid. that thing was more or less invincible and felt like it was built solid too i suspect it might have been a typewriter in disguise, which would explain why it worked properly despite ostensibly being a printer

printing sucks because it needs to be precise and that's the one thing paper isn't across varying temperature and humidity

echinopsis posted:actually most faxes work fine almost all the time and the ones with document feeders that make photocopying easy are my friend no I agree, fax is good. arctic and indigenous communities rely on it and it's still ubiquitous in a number of industries. often misused maybe but blame corpro process over tech Mr SuperAwesome posted:lol @ needing a printer in tyool 2016 wow just wow

OP are you saying you had a system where the printer would be able to interact with multiple devices but it turns out to not be as great as people made it out to be cause this seems like a recurring theme for you

just hook a printer up to your network via wire. your wireless device can still talk to it.
