Been enjoying the Mew glitch on Yellow, I have caught a ton of Pokemon you can't get on yellow tonight. There's a trainer just to the east of Cinnabar I can use, then I fly to Fuschia, switch boxes, reset, push the Boulder, make sure I have one empty slot in my party, then just go to wherever has wild Pokemon with special values close to what I want. Save, catch, and check its special. If it isn't something I need or want, just reset, all o have to redo is the catching part. It's great.

I'm going off the deep end because I think I'm going to buy heart gold, omega Ruby, and have my friend in Seattle mail me back my finished Pokemon Diamond. I already bought White 2. I'm almost to a gen 1 living Dex. This poo poo all going in the bank. Gen 1 living Dex is good because then I can skip any gen 1 mons I run into except new evolutions. Then I will have played all six generations.

Don't know if it's possible to do this by November.

You joke, but it's a pretty cool day when your kid comes home from preschool talking about Pokemon.
And about how one of their classmates has one at home, but isn't allowed to bring it to school.

My three year old invented his own, Clancham(an alternate evolution of Pancham) and Tigreen. And when he watches the show and they get into battles he pretends he's Abra and helps out. He likes to tell me "I have 10 new Pokemon you don't have yet".

No matter how many times I tell him though, he believes Mew evolves into MewTwo. Just, no. No son.

Where's the best place to powerlevel in Yellow? I couldn't beat the Elite Four last night and feel bad about it because my son was watching and he was really sad. My team of Parasect(Mega Drain, Spore, Leech Life, Cut), Primeape(Thunderbolt, Seismic Toss, Low Kick, Karate Chop), Nidoking(Ice Beam, Earthquake, Strength, Double Kick), Pidgeot(Fly, Wing Attack, Sand Attack, Quick Attack), Blastoise(Surf, Water Gun, Skull Bash, Withdraw), and Kadabra(my most shameful movelist, Psychic, Recover, Flash, Reflect) probably sucks. Average level 47.

Any TMs I should use to bang this out? Should I just say gently caress it and put the three legendary birds in the team? Parasect is the anchor. I know his movelist probably sucks but he solo bodied three gyms with it and I love putting them to sleep and killing them with short effective draining moves. But he's so loving slow and every Elite Four Pokemon seemingly has a nice that can one shot him.

Flash was a necessary evil and I figured once I migrate him to Sun and Moon he'll be in a game where they let you overwrite HMs.

Does Reflect really help all that much? All using defensive moves has ever seemingly done for me is give opponents a free hit.

One more question, I've read about the box glitch and how stats are recalculated any time you put in a Pokemon and take one out again. Is this only upwards based on their stat experience, or can it go either way if there's been no change? I'm wondering because i have plenty of Pokemon with a special stat somewhat close to what I want to do the long range trainer ditto glitch, and if I can massage it to move it up or down a couple that would be great.

What killed you? Did you have enough healing items? Nidoking should be able to solo 2/4 of the E4 just with earthquake since most of bruno and I think all of agatha just roll over and die to it even if your pokemon is in the low 40s. Blastoise with an Ice Move will help during dragons. I think Nidoking will be able to solo most of gary too, honestly.

The best place to powerlevel is against the E4. Spend all of your money on casino coins and/or items and then just make runs without using any items until you feel like you're powerful enough to win though you really already should be. The most useless member of that team, if you were to swap anybody, is probably Pidgeot with Moltres or Articuno being good replacements. I think Bruno's fighting types have rock slide so if Pidgeot isn't OHKOing them it's probably not doing much for you overall.

I just lost due to attrition because I didn't want to buy a ton of revives and potions even though I have plenty of cash. Pidgeot was two shotting most of Bruno. I ended up finally losing the attrition battle to Agatha and her final Gengar mainly because she's a cheating bitch with infinite super potions. The Ice lady was my main problem, taking out half my team.

But I got White 2 and HGSS used, so I'm betting there's a save file with a lot of Pokemon in there already, which is awesome, I'll get those over to white 2 and then onto Pokemon bank before starting new games.

So my heart gold cart seems to have some trouble. It runs fine but if it takes a bump or my finger runs over it while playing it will crash. This is both in my 3DS XL and my DS Lite. Sometimes I have to reset the DS to get it to recognize the card in the slot. I notice whatever is inside the card feels loose like i can great it moving around.

Anyone know how to repair this? Would it be possible to open the card up and tighten something? Or am I just going to have to play very carefully?

Parasect is my loving anchor, because Spore. Don't. Miss. If only he wasn't slow as gently caress. He can tank just about anything at least once by level 50 though, with spore buying enough time to heal up anyone in reserve with items and then mega drain or Leech Life everything else.

I'm just guessing the glitch pokemon I have caught like the level 7 Ivysaur and level 7, well, every evolved pokemon that isn't in yellow, will not be transferred succesfully from the bank. So I was wondering if I could trick them by levelling them up to their minimum level. I'm guessing they'll notice if I have an Alakazam not flagged as traded though, or a raichu. Or, uh, two pikachus.
