No my post is at the end, I put in more optimal items, three sets for the usual level ranges There's actually a mistake, the boots should be one kind of rare instead of another, I forget. I think I had too much vitality resistance and not enough elemental or something but I'd uploaded the file already so I decided to just not care.

Dave_Indeed posted:Grim Dawn looks fun and good if you can play single player. Grim Dawn is only single player AFAIK Don't try a melee guy, they get killed almost instantly after you fight the warden which is the end of act one, they really need good gear. You have to farm up good gear for your melee guys on a ranged guy. Best first guy is a pet build which is kinda like skele necro. The only issue is that you have literally nothing to do -- in Diablo you could do curses and stuff but in Grim Dawn the curses draw aggro from every enemy they hit unless they're already fighting someone. But by the time the mob is all latched onto your pets your pets have almost already killed them, or, if not, you don't want to risk aggro from whatever they're fighting anyway. The constellations are really confusing at first but basically you pick the best one for your build and work backwards from it (the higher constellations require devotion points granted to you by owning lower ones, so the two really powerful chaotic ones require you to pick up some minor chaotic associated ones first (which has requirements of 1 which you can get from the starter constellation in the middle). Some of them are blended like half chaotic half spirit or whatever. The most powerful ones are all on the outside edge of the screen so start there and work in, usually the ones associated with them lie from them toward the center.

There is but nobody really plays online, which is a shame 'cause it's a good game, very much along the lines of D2, but the lack of does make it kind of boring when you're just grinding alone. I just reinstalled D3 after not having played it since the RLAH days and it is an entirely different game from what I remember and I'm liking it.

I have been playing this the last 3 weeks or so with a lightning sorceress. I made it to act III hell before quitting yesterday in frustration. loving IMMUNITIES! Is this game designed to be completed single player or am I supposed to be covering my weaknesses by playing with a friend?

Better to be really good at killing 85% of the monsters than mediocre at killing 98%.

Grim Dawn is fun for a few hours but is ultimately just kind of soul-less. The vast majority of skills are tiny % improvements for a few active abilities. You're supposed to get more active abilities from loot drops, but good luck finding the abilities you need in the first 25 hours of gameplay. It is mostly single player though, so I cheated myself a couple hundred skill points to try out active abilities without having to worry about conserving just for synergies. That was fun.

Manchild King posted:I have been playing this the last 3 weeks or so with a lightning sorceress. I made it to act III hell before quitting yesterday in frustration. loving IMMUNITIES! They added immunities to every mob in patch 1.10 mostly because otherwise the sorc would just melt everyone in hell and there was no other way to fix it without also making hell impossible for all the other characters. You just teleport past the immune guys. The ancients are really bad as a sorc because you're going to have to teleport to them and check their immunities which are randomized and hope just one is immune to whatever element is your main one and then have a way for your merc to live long enough to kill him. If your merc has "bad" equipment you might want to take his gear away and go get a bow merc from act 1 for that fight, she shoots quickly while you teleport around and then you just need to be able to kill Mardac or whoever is the axe throwing rear end in a top hat with your magic. You'll have to rebuy your old merc after this and relevel him which sucks. It's worse as a melee character without really good equipment imo raton fucked around with this message at 20:58 on Aug 22, 2016 |

Titans Quest was good until you got to the great wall, then it was good again after you fought Goro. I don't play it any more though because the Conqueror is four times better than any other character and still very gear dependent.

I've been playing Diablo 3 again for the past couple of weeks. The game play is fun - if a bit samey. I'm certainly sick of the story, and I don't remember being sick of the Titan Quest story the same way (Diablo 2 was too long ago for me to remember). It's probably the fact that there are too many cut-scenes with big dramatic reveals and betrayals. The story seems designed for more impact on the first play-through - and inadvertently for more annoyance on subsequent play-throughs. Stop lecturing me Adria - you're an rear end in a top hat. And all you fuckers with blue asterisks above your head - I'm not talking to you any more. Edit: I'm going through the story because I'm playing a new character (a Crusader). I always take them through the story once.

I was always the melee guy back then so I had to learn a spell or buy a bow

The fun thing about Diablo 2 was playing with friends. I don't have friends that play Diablo 3. My friend played a lot as a Necro, and I played as a Barbarian. In his eyes, I was just an especially powerful golem under his command.
