I hope we get All-Stars 3 with Tempest DuJour and Lagana, who plays 9 versions of herself. Tempest wins.

Todrick comes off as the archetypical tool. Compared to Ross, he is bottom of the barrel. He doesn't have the charm or the adorableness that Ross emanates. Hopefully they get rid of him and Carson for S9, but I doubt it.

big black turnout posted:also part of what works about drag race is catty gay men being catty. nobody wants to watch a drag king show to see exciting behind the scenes footage of who's moving into whose house at the end of the season Don't forget about the scenes when all the kings would compare their softball and Birkenstock collections. Each commercial would be for U-haul too. Ru seems to stake a hard stance about issues when the show is attacked. After the she-mail poo poo it became pretty apparent. The hug-box mentality seems to be the complete opposite of queens. I expect and want my drag queens to be raunchy, perverse, politically incorrect. It's an exaggeration -- pantomime even. So, while she-mail is offensive, it's also a drat funny play on a show that makes every attempt to interject the words 'she' and 'her' into as many other words as possible. It seems that everything is alright with something on the show, or with queens (that's been being done for years), and suddenly the delicate sensibilities of people have been raped, and defenses go up. With that, I can only wonder if the statements regarding kings by Ru isn't him being a dick, but rather looking at this from what and how he knows the scene. Lesbians traditionally have been way more accepted than gay men, for example (you know, it's hot to watch 2 chicks do it, but 2 "fags" is disgustin'). I don't know how I personally feel. Both sides seem to have valid points.

Nostalgia4Infinity posted:"i'm trying to redeem myself, I've changed!" I saw an episode of Hey Qween where she said all the drama with Sharon was manufactured by two of them because there hadn't been a rivalry like that before. And Ginger really needs to stop saying that she can't dance. It's very apparent that she is quite talented.

Just started season 2 again. It's really weird. All the drag is really basic (comparatively speaking), and no Michelle makes it seem a bit less harsh.

I was on Phi Phi's IG, and people are loving crazy. Did he do something else, besides what's been talked about, to piss off the Drag Race hive mind? The reaction seems a bit unwarranted.

That's what I'm confused about too. A lot of what I perceived drag culture to be about is a bunch of bitchy men being bitchy. All in good fun, of course. Caddy, claws out drama can be entertaining. Nothing so far in AS2 seems even remotely like that. Everyone has been on their best behavior. Hell, Dexox came off as super shady in her season and now he is a choir boy in comparison. Spite House put it well: it's excessive. Disturbingly so. It's just hate and ultra-smarmy attitudes. One comment was along the lines of Phi disabled her comments because the detractors were right. It's almost delusional. She could have disabled them for being called a bitch, oval office, told to die, etc. the people engaging in this seem sociopathic in a sense. sonatinas posted:Drag Race would be just as good of a show if it was as nice as British Bake Off; however, people want their drama... Make an episode of Drag Race with this combo as the challenge, and you'll see me extremely happy. I would love to see the queens bake something while being cheeky in the process.

That dance number they did was everything. I wish Alyssa was in it though, she would have killed it. I'm not surprised Alaska won. They probably gave it to her so they don't have to pay her the prize money for spoiling the season. Still wanted Kayta to win though.

Clavavisage posted:Dragula has been wonderful so far I started watching this last night and it's awesome. I love horror, so it scratches a strange itch of that and drag. My only complaint is the sound quality is janky, but I expect that out of how much their budget probably is. I really hope this show gets picked up.
