2) Buy Battlefield 1 for PS4. A) Couch and controller. B) Home theater surround sound on a very sweet system set up. C) $47.00 with BB gamers club/Amazon Prime. D) The audio will be unmatched. And will shake my house. E) I have tons of friends on PS4, and 1 friend on Origin. Downsides: 1) Graphical hit (Is it that much?). 2) No typing messages.

Where is the majority of the goon presence? Last time I played a major FPS with goons was the best and most hilarious thing ever when playing Wolfenstein Enemy Territory.

I've been enjoying singleplayer immensely and was very surprised that I could put everything on Ultra with TAA and HBAO, on an i5-3570, HD7850 2GB and 8GB RAM, with little issue except the odd cutscene stutter. Unfortunately it runs significantly worse in multiplayer, especially the overhead transitions. Which settings are the worst offenders and/or easiest to live without?

Also, where's the Hellfighter stuff from my GMG pre-order? The customisation menu is pretty terrible.

Game is loving gorgeous, though, and the sound design absolutely incredible as always. Whoever does that should get all the awards.

Edit: Am I blind or did they miss the opportunity for a dedicated dogfight mode? For shame.

Anybody else not get the Hellfighter stuff from their GMG pre-order? (Edit: Site now says there was no bonus content included. I could swear that it listed the Hellfighter pack when I ordered. :wtf:)

And does anyone have a graphics tweak guide? Game runs almost flawlessly in singleplayer, but the FPS absolutely tanks in multiplayer, especially on the map with the fog.

Man, the full game runs like utter dogshit. I was able to play the beta without much difficulty, but now it's unplayably bad. The FPS warning indicator is constantly in the orange/red, and no setting I adjust makes any difference. I have an i7 and a GTX 780 (which is older, I know, but I've never seen it struggle like this before).

I have an i5-3570 and an HD7850, the singleplayer runs more or less flawlessly on Ultra with TAA and HBAO, but it struggles a lot in multiplayer even with the most taxing settings on Medium, especially on maps with fog. Amiens was the worst, where the screen would sometimes get a blue hue and some blinding sun effect spawned permanently in the middle of the map. I could max out BF4 (no AA, though) without issue.

Fun visual bug on Ameins in Operations. The weather changed after a successful wave defense and suddenly the sun was a blazing giant lens flare that completely obscured your vision if you looked vaguely east towards where the germans spawned. Affected at least half of the defending team so at least it wasn't my video card melting.

I get this literally every time I play it, so I just quit when it comes up. Sometimes it's piss yellow. And the screen will sometimes flicker in and out of a cyan hue. Glad to know it's not my card burning out from the strain.

All you people not getting battlepacks could have it worse. You could be scrapping all the poo poo skins and investing in an "Enhanced" one, only to the get the same goddamn BAR skin you already have, which only scraps for 90. Wasted 370 scraps on that.

Whoever designed the UI deserves to get severe trench foot.

By the way, if you're getting bad frame drops, try switching to borderless. Worked wonders for me.

Been enjoying the single player so far, but I keep getting massive frame rate drops/freezing in multi. I guess System Requirements Lab wasn't lying when they said I needed a better CPU for this game...

Try running borderless, turn down lighting and postprocessing, disable memory restriction and create a user.cfg in the BF1 root folder with the following lines:

gametime.maxvariablefps 60
Thread.JobThreadPriority 2

where 60 is the max refresh rate of your monitor or desired FPS for smooth play.

Turning on borderless made the biggest difference for me, so try that first.

I coincidentally happened to order a new CPU/mobo/ram not too long ago that I think is sitting on my doorstep at the moment that should put me well in line to run it with no issues, but if I get everything put together and am still having problems I'll try this, thanks. My drops were pretty savage - I'd go from 45-50 fps down to 5-10 and cycle back up again, so I'm thinking it was less about the graphics and more about the game itself only barely being able to run on my system. TBF, my current CPU was mid-range like 5 years ago and doesn't meet the minimum requirements, so it's not really the game's fault.

For what it's worth, I am running an i5-3570 and HD7850 and was able to max out singleplayer, so it might be something buggy about fullscreen combined with multiplayer. I still get the odd frame drop, but not the periodic absolute slideshow I used to.

And I'm pretty sure my RAM isn't the problem, because I have 16GB running on dual channel. I'm thinking about returning what I just bought and getting a 1060 or 1080, but I hear those aren't performing well on multiplayer either.

:sigh: It's goddamn frustrating seeing how cool everything is and not being able to do anything but play the meh campaign.
